So me and Sparky off 'ere were having a few cheeky drinks last night and our thirst for expensive beer leads us to the Terrace in town. We get a round of drinks in and Sparky spots none other than Mr Hammond standing on crutches at the bar!!

Like a couple of excited school girls we jibber jabber about what we can say to him or how we can 'get in with him'....

So, before entering into adult humour and wit with Elvis I decide to go for a slash. I come back upstairs to witness Sparky and Elvis having the biggest love-in and theres no way I can get my head in. Damn my feeble bladder. Eventually Sparky comes back over and says that he has had a good chat with Elvis and he's revealed that Kaebi isn't playing cos he is never fit and Ferreira doesn't play cos the whole squad think he is plain sh*t and is also never fit. Sparky says that Elvis was sound and really gone up in his opinion.

Now its my turn. So I brave it and stroll up to him (yes I am steaming btw) and give it some.

Me: 'Elvis, mate, how are you?'

Elvis: 'Erm, yeah, not bad mate'

Me 'So when you th.......'

Elvis: 'Sorry, I have just got to take this (phone call)'

And he walks off. Clearly his phone was not ringing and I looked like a tw*t.

Nice one Elvis.

to be fair to elvis i thought he was pretty sound. he is out till the new year and hopes to be back in contention when he is fit . he reckons kaebi and ferreria would be in the frame to play but keep picking up injurys , he says that our club is a quality club and just needs a good manager to turn us around. i asked him his thoughts on tigana and he said that would be a fantastic appointment , he had good words to say about the fans , i said that all we ask for is plenty of effort and wanna see players giving a 5hit for our club .

he clearly also is a good judge of character if he is giving robbo the brush off :giggle:

I seen Kaebi and Porter today.

Kaebi CAN understand english as I was speaking to him.

Porter said he had no crewsiate knee ligiment damage but he's still on crutches.

Elvis was at Fulham from 2000 to 2005.

Tigana was there from 2000 to 2003.

Spooky. :)

And from 2000 to 2005 - he didn't score a competitive goal.

No goals in 11 starts for Fulham.

22 starts with English football league clubs and no goals scored before he joined us.

It's no surprise he didn't score any, it's not like he played a lot of games. :dunno:

But still, let's not go down that road again.

And you didn't bother to ask him why he wasn't playing......

He went on loan in Holland didn't he? Scored in a friendly? Not that i'm gonna start some kind of debate

As I've said three or four times, Elvis is still a novice footballer as far as League football is concerned yet despite such spasmodic appearances has scored 8 times in 58 appearances for City and an improving 6 in 19 starts last season.

A great many of Hammond's appearances have been as a substitute and I imagine his eight goals came in the equivalent of 25-28 full matches, that's around a goal every 3/3.5 matches.

That equates to an annual 16 goals a season which I've always thought the lower end of acceptable for a striker and which has only been threatened by Hume in recent seasons. Hammond has generally been under used and under appreciated at Leicester.

 Yes i believe he has been too and what with how our currant strikers are performing I see no reason as to why he shouldn't at least make the bench once hes fit again.

Thracian logic at its best.

I too am a novice in League football terms. However, I have scored 0 goals in 0 appearances and after doing some sums on my Casio calculator watch I am led to believe this means I have scored the same amount of goals as games I have played. Therefore if I were to play in the remaining 30 or so games mathmatically I should score at least 30 goals. Of course were our new manager only to play me for half of the games I would only score 15 goals or so. I have presented my findings to Milan and I'm discussing terms on Monday.

I presume maths isn't your strongest subject.
