What happened to Ashley Chambers...thought he was the next big thing. Mattock was off on U21 duty so where's Chambers?

Chambers hasn't really been that good.

To me he is another Stearman, big headed about being a footballer.

He told me he comes on occasionally. He doesnt post though

England Under 18s squad, the game is on Tuesday.

So why is Mattock in the U21 squad...he's still 17 ain't he? Or is it case of if your good enough, your old enough?

The quality of strikers in U21 is a lot higher than the left backs to be fair e.g. Matt Derbyshire, Theo Walcott, Gabby Agbonlahor etc.

If Ashley Chambers is going to make it he surely would of made a few first team appearances now? :S

Hmm true. I guess I'm still in the mindset that he's on the brink of playing. Because of Blackpool league cup game. But then Odihambo has played more football for Leicester than he has. I guess it all consequates to the fact that he shares the same first name as me, guess it's a name i'd remember.

Billy Kee has'nt been chosen to represent England at any level yet and have trouble seeing why.

Especially as Chambers, who has done nothing this season, gets in the England u18's.

Billy has an eye catching goal tally this season so why is the off form Chambers chosen over him?

Because the Under 21's regular defenders all seem to be injured. He must be like 3rd/4th choice LB when everyone is fully fit. When the next squad is announced dont be surprised not to see him in it.

Reading the post back that doesn't sound too optomistic from myself, but its the truth unfortunately!! :mellow:

I think I like it better when people don't bother to follow Youth football, because an awful lot of people haven't got a fooking clue what they're on about.

Chamber's is only 17 also.

I think anyway.

He was injured for a long time wasn't he? Injured one or both of his knees or something, I guess that would have set him back.

Come on give the lad a break. He was badly injured for quite a while. He's still a growing lad remember.

Typical city fan putting a lad down before he's even started. Bet you feel right clever as well. He made a first team appearance at what was it 15? 16? Obviously you have that accolade too dont you. He's one of our hottest prospects. Let him develop then make your judgement.
