FilboFox Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Now that Jewell is at Derby (SHEEP ****ING) County and in the Premiership, who would you have preferred in hindsight? I would still choose Holloway now... I know at first I thought that I would have wanted Jewell or Tigana more but I really think that Holloway has more passion and desire which will really rub off on the team! Can't wait to be back in the Premiership!
Maybes Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Jewell has shown a complete lack of ambition joining then. Whereas holloway has took a gamble on this city side.
Scow Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Jewell without a doubt - has a track record of two promotions from this division and encouages good football.
dandannieldanok Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 I'll be perfecly honest and say Jewell, but I'm still very happy with Ollie
The Stig Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Jewell without a doubt - has a track record of two promotions from this division and encouages good football. When you combine that with his Premiership experience he is the obvious choice, I agree with you. However I am far from upset about getting Ollie and I believe he'll do a great job, providing the chairman doesn't get banged up.
Cheese Me Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Thought Jewell at the time but no delighted with Ollie and wouldn't dream of changing him. Jewell will damage his reputation seriously at the sheep
Geo V Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Being normal doesn't work at Leicester and the best and most succesful managers of our great club have always been a bit mental so Ollie all the way!
Koke Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Would still have prefered Jewell to be honest. But I'm stil extremely happy with Ollie.
Dames Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Ollie. I didn't think Jewell would be cut out for the job here. He was under no pressure at Wigan untill the final weeks of last season. I just don't think Jewell would have been able to handle it here.

Super Arj Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 ollie brings great spirit to the club and he gives us somethig to laugh about too, despite jewells amazing record
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Jewell has shown a complete lack of ambition joining then. Whereas holloway has took a gamble on this city side. Thats a pretty blinkered pov Maybes, my heart would say something like that if my head would allow it.
Koke Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 I don't understand people saying its total lack of ambition on Jewell's part. What exactly is wrong with going to Derby? Yes they look like they going to get relegated but the future is bright for them. They'll come down here with a very strong squad and money to spend and most likely they'll go back up again. The unforgivable could happen though and Jewell could save them.

If he saves them he's God, if they go down, it was Billy Davies fault, and when they do go down, he will have plenty of dough to spend on players and Derby are a decent club, unlike Wigan.

He's not bald Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Exactly right, theres no reason to go to Leicester over Derby. At all. This is a no brainer...what's done is done!...Ollie for king!!
Fat Ron Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 It was always pretty obvious that Jewell was gonna go to a Prem side, and to be honest I think Ollie is more the man we need at this moment in time. He wasnt my first choice but then I doubt Milan would have talked Mourinho, Houllier or Cappello to come here in a million years!!!! Holloway is here to stay!!!!
Kilworthfox Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Exactly right, theres no reason to go to Leicester over Derby. At all. I could never say that! maybe think it
Guest Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Who Cares ????..Pointless..Its Done.. <_< I guess that the law of averages would have me agreeing with you at some point.
FilboFox Posted 29 November 2007 Author Posted 29 November 2007 I guess that the law of averages would have me agreeing with you at some point. Pff! Its just interesting to see what people think about the appointment! Don't be so boring!
Daz.I Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Still reet chuffed with the appointment I just think Jewells appointment would have gave us a lot of experience at this level.
Fox92 Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Ino Jewell did well at Wigan/Bradford but he wasted sum essential money at Wigan. Holloway easy. Eccentric legend.
