Turtles Head Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Ive just bought a song on itunes and i want to transfer it onto my phone using my disc2phone software to my sony ericsson k810i, but when i locate it in disc2phone, it claims it to be a non-usable music track. Any ideas or suggestions of ways round this? Is it a copyright thing with apple/sony maybe??? Thanks in advance

Although they are illegal, it's not very likely you're going to get prosecuted for just the one song. You just have to be careful not to pick up the wrong song or viruses. Just an idea

Just an idea I'm quite sure it's not illegal if you legally own the song in the first place
hairy Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 I'm quite sure it's not illegal if you legally own the song in the first place Yes it is illegal. To remove the DRM try This. Not tried it myself but could be worth a try.
Shram Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 One way you can do it (although it is tedious) is to burn any tracks bought in itune using the burn tool in itunes. You can then rip the songs off the cd as you would for mp3s.
Bojimha Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 All songs purchased on Itunes are protected so they can only be listened to on Itunes. I thought you could get DRM free tracks also on iTunes now but for a different price? Not that it matters as in this case it definately seems like a DRM track he has but still....

EDIT: just read what shram said... they are right.... i think if you burn it onto a disk, then once it is on the disc copy it back off the disk onto your pc but make sure the copy method in Windows media ( or which ever one you use) is set to Mp3.
Dames Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 A more simple way. Why dont you get someone to send it you through MSN?

Nope. i've tried changing the file format, and even burning it onto a disc. Doesn't work.
Simi Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Serves you right for buying music. If anyone is reading this of importance..I always buy music. Definitely.
cisono Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 What about some of the file sharing programs i.e. Limewire, Bearshare etc? Although they are illegal, it's not very likely you're going to get prosecuted for just the one song. Especially since you have ACTUALLY purchased the song, (albeit in the wrong format)...
