jonw88 Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 im not sure how much to read into this... but so far this is what has been that Shaun Newton, Carl Cort, Jimmy Nielsen, Hossein Kaebi and Sergio Hellings and Maybury and Douglas can go,,http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?b...6269754|p|536|0 Kaebi and Cort going surprise me... I'd have expected the likes of de Vries, Hammond, Kishishev etc. to go ahead of them. And isn't Cort playing today?
barmy76uk Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Holloway out,hes going to mess this club up big time!
LcFc D3C Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Thats slightly harsh on ollie.Im sure he knows what he is doing and good on him for getting the ball rolling trying to get rid of some of our s*** players.Only time will tell if ollie is the right man for the jo.
sdb Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Thrac what position is Cox and what kind of attributes does he possess etc. He always seems to be the second name in the reserve line-ups which suggests to me it's ANOTHER right back!!! (not complaining!)

(not complaining!) I've mentioned elsewhere that he plays right back or in midfield. Although he doesn't look in any way flash, he seems to have a marked effect on matches - for the good. That might be just coincidence because I've only seen him perhaps six times. But at least three of those games he would have been a MoM contestant which, for a player with an unspectacular style, says something for his consistency and reliability.
Monk Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 What! You mean to say that all those hundreds of polls and threads on Kaebi were for NOTHING? There are several people who should have their post count reduced on an ad hoc basis as a result. Mods. Do your work!
Babylon Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Holloway out,hes going to mess this club up big time! Look it's another Plymouth fan in disguise, go and spread your poison elsewhere. What is all the debate about Kaebi, a player signed by Milan and overlooked by all three managers to see him play day in day out. Yet people still think he's a world superstar... Youtube has lots to answer for. Delighted for Cox, seen him play a couple of times and been more than impressed.
Milky Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Kaebi has been acting a bit billy big time. Rubbed a few up the wrong way.
Calum McDermott Posted 22 December 2007 Author Posted 22 December 2007 I'm not in the least bit "happy" but it does confirm what I've said since the first two games I saw him play.I'm not happy to see any player fail. I'm not happy that he wasn't used as a right midfielder from the start of his time here so that maybe, just maybe, he might have developed as an asset. I'm not happy about the idiocy of rushing him into the first team when he clearly wasn't ready for it, for whatever reasons. And I'm not happy about why he was signed in the first place and on whose recommendation. When I saw the YouTube video I was as impressed as everyone else and was greatly looking forward to seeing a class player in our ranks. But watching him when he arrived showed him in a completely different light and I have to wonder whether he was ever properly scouted. It doesn't take long. Within two or three weeks of their arrival it was clear that Ferreira, Djiziri, Kaebi and probably Hellings were never going to make it here. I find it hard to believe that any representative of Leicester City ever concluded that they would IF they watched them properly. That is not to say they were hopeless footballers. Just that they were unsuited to English Championship football at this time. So I am happy that Ollie has recognised what appeared obvious and done something about it quickly. I cannot argue against him on any of the other decisions either. His promotion of Cox is progressive and shows that he clearly recognises a useful footballer when he sees one even if he might remain on the fringes for a time. I might say though that Cox seems to relish the big stage and once he's ready and given his chance I'm not sure he will easily relinquish it. Im worried that he is going to move to a bigger club and suceed! Im happy about the inclusion of cox as he is very impressive, he is consistent, strong in the tackle and has decent distribution.
Daggers Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Don't hold your breath. Here's to hoping he isn't a pearl diver
Calum McDermott Posted 22 December 2007 Author Posted 22 December 2007 I hope kaebi plays today to show what he's got for the last time! It could give him some motivation!

Joe. Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 I'm 90% sure Kaebi won't go to another English club. By the sounds of things he's just not suited to the game. So if he succeeds elsewhere I don't think Holloway can be blamed for anything, but it's more than likely not going to be in this country. A move abroad would be the most likely thing I think, but I don't expect any "big" clubs to be rushing in at all.

B195 Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 I really don't understand this obsession with Kaebi. Its like a cult, loads of people have been brain washed that he is actually a player that is going to be successful at championship level. Three managers seem to think he isn't good enough so why is everyone one still going on and on about how they can't believe he is not getting in the team and is now being released. He is not good enough, get over it!

By the same token I am surprised that women's forums aren't full of praise for my potential in their box too.

Perhaps they're keeping it to themselves - afraid of alerting the competition.

The Reverend Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 As much as i have said give Kaebi a chance in the first team, i've also said, if he isn't good enough, get rid of him now and it appears Holloway has seen enough of him to be able to say he's not good enough, which is fine by me. I trust Holloways judgement as he seems particularly decent when it comes to good foreign players. As for the rest of them, i dont think we even need to talk about them really. Tara fellas.
Blue Bob Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Personally I trust Ollies judgement on this one. If Kaebi was any good then I am sure Ollie would want to play him as we are struggling for decent players at the best of times. My only doubt is has Ollie gone far enough, I would have like to see Kenton, Hammond, De Vries, Kishishev and Logan on the list too.
Brainy Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 I don't know why you're upset - we are where we are now because of most of these players.

Holloway's declared policy was to see everyone first before making a decision. He's seen Kenton and would seem to have been reasonably pleased with both his attitude and his performance. The others are injured or on loan.
Leicester_Mad Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 no point releasing Logan yet, Hendersen is our only keeper from January. Agree with the players that have actually been released, maybe would have kept Newton but i think that shows he is looking at a proper right winger.
Hullfox Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 ouch!speaking as someone who lives in a foreign country (albeit one where everyone speaks english) i think that is a little harsh... I suspect that had you chosen to work in a country where few if any spoke your native tongue, you would have been able to hold a basic conversation after 6 months.
Joe. Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 I don't know why you're upset - we are where we are now because of most of these players. Should you not be out the house by now on the way to Molyneux?
