Shipman Out Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Why isnt Mark De Vries on this list!!!! just cant get rid of the idiot however hard we try! just like Douglas and Maybury.
Lillehamring Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 I suspect that had you chosen to work in a country where few if any spoke your native tongue, you would have been able to hold a basic conversation after 6 months. maybe, but there is a massive difference between learning how to buy a beer or ask for directions and to have a 'conversation', lets face it, footballers are hardly the most eloquent of communicators so i suspect learning foreign languages is not really gonna be their thing. and also, kaebi would have to learn a whole new alphabet and completely new pronunciation to his native tounge. not saying that he couldn't do it, maybe he did learn some, but i think it is harsh to condemn a bloke for not learning a new language for vocational use in such a short time.
Lillehamring Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Rab Douglas, July 2008 - 6 months Alan Maybury July 2008 - 6 months Shaun Newton, July 2008 - 6 months Carl Cort, June 2009 - 18 months Jimmy Nielsen, July 2009 - 18 months Hossein Kaebi, June 2009 - 18 months Sergio Hellings, June 2009 - 18 months well if we can't get rid that means we've got to find a way of agreeing the termination of 7.5 years of contracts or 360 weeks @ a conservative £5k/week that is £1.8mill they could have DJ instead hasn't nielsen agreed to move by mutual consent? i'm sure he'll find a club in denmark easily in january. much like kaebi (perhaps even more so) he is not a bad player, just didn't settle in well.
Babylon Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 I agree, what an terrible group of players he bought, lets hope Milan learnt by this experience and take a more active role in transfers. I appreciate some managers will not appreciate this but I feel he needs to check what research has been done and why the player will be a success before he gets out his cheque book!! Please tell me you are being incredibly sarcastic????
Geo V Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Lets see if these players actually do find clubs. The worrying thing is that are arguably on decent contracts and will want fees for us getting rid and I'm not too sure how strong the market is for these players and what we could actually get for them, if anything. Lets hope any financial loss wont hinder our possible spending come January as we do need some more investment, that is for sure.
Anish Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Good move by Ollie. All of those players (and some) need shipping. It just shows that Levein was in cloud cuckoo land by giving the likes of Maybury, Douglas, De Vries, Hammond 3 year+ contracts. Criminal. As for Cort, Ollie should really apologise to the fans in my opinion. He was the first to slate the fans when we gave Cort a hard time for his inept and pathetic performances, and now Ollie's realised that Cort really is sh*t after all. Who says Leicester fans don't know how to judge players or scapegoat one player? Ollie was wrong to lambast us when he's doing the same to Cort (albeit weeks later).

Also nice to have you back posting more Anish. I think the thing with Ollie and Cort was that Ollie wanted everyone to have a fair crack at the whip. Although we know what Cort is about now, Ollie didn't at the time and I think maybe he wanted Cort to be a vocal point in our team. When he got booed it would of damaged Cort, for sure, I just think Holloway wanted a bit more of him before he made a final decsion. But looking back on it, you can see that he was wrong, but admitting that isn't going to get him anywhere.

As has been said by others, he doesn't want any of his players singling out for booing on the pitch, whether he thinks they are good are not. He was right to have a go at fans for booing Cort because it shouldn't be done.
Raj Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 We need more shite out!!!! But well done Ollie for starting to try and clear them out! We really getting rid of Kaebi??? Thought he skinned Figo on Youtube???
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Anyone confirm that it's not 7, but 9 players as my mate, a Wolves fan, texted me and says it was 9 according to SSN ???
Micky Ruddle Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 At least Ollie is making a start. Good riddance to all. I think Kaebi has been here a while now, and should understand our language. If he hasn't, he hasn't bothered to, and not interested playing for this team,, so i think he should clear off, along with the other crap thats here
Churchill Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Ruddle please don't talk about kaebi like that
Sly Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 I was informed by a player that Jimmy wasn't great and he'd rather stick himself in nets. The same person also told me Kaebi and Hellings would never play for the club (so he was wrong on one account). I think this is just the tip of the iceberg, others will go, it'll just take time.
WetFlannel Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Why are we still talking about Kaebi, get over him... hes just another player and obviously is part of the rubbish we have aquired in the summer, good riddance and thanks for being another name on the wage list to do bugger all
Ultra Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 As has been said by others, he doesn't want any of his players singling out for booing on the pitch, whether he thinks they are good are not. He was right to have a go at fans for booing Cort because it shouldn't be done. Cort tried to pretend he was fitter than he actually was - and not for the first time. He wasn't exactly showing the fans respect and so they were within their rights to respond as they did. Besides, he was quite happy to milk the applause at Chelsea when he played well.
The Stig Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 If Ollie thinks Kaebi isn't good enough then I trust him, and as for the others they will not be missed, especially Cort. Martin Allen made a howler there.
Father Ted Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 If Ollie thinks Kaebi isn't good enough then I trust him, and as for the others they will not be missed, especially Cort. Martin Allen made a howler there. I read somewhere that IH wasn't happy with Kaebi's lack of English as he still doesn't know how to speak English.
WetFlannel Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 Why are people blaming Ollie for booing the players... hes not exactly going to encourage it. He needs to create a unity between the fans and the players and thats all he was simply trying to do.
Father Ted Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 From Goal.com: Holloway had expressed his frustration with Kaebi’s poor English, despite the Iranian moving to England several months ago.
WetFlannel Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 From Goal.com:Holloway had expressed his frustration with Kaebi’s poor English, despite the Iranian moving to England several months ago. maybe its an attitude problem that he just cant be bothered
MC Prussian Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 From Goal.com:Holloway had expressed his frustration with Kaebi’s poor English, despite the Iranian moving to England several months ago. For Christ's sake, there's a thing called English courses for foreigners. Either Kaebi just doesn't want to be here or the club's totally forgotten about providing him with the proper service. In either case, it's a shame.
orod Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 its a disgrace that kaebi's been released. i watched him in germany last year - he was fantastic. maybe not the best suited build for the championship but still amazing. just watch this space, in 2 or three seasons hel be playing for one of the top 6 sides in prem/italy/spain. what a shame
