Lovejoy Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 As well as Leicester, I also support McDons to an extent, despite them being a franchise team because they are local
lookwhaticando Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 I'm a closet Newcastle United fan. Can't be accused of being a glory supporter.
Father Ted Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 I couldn't see myself giving the same passion to any other team apart from Leicester. I just couldn't do it.I have soft spots for teams, but nothing more than that. I couldn't have put it any better
Bert Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 To be honest, I disagree with that. I really want the best for Leicester and Burton, I'd love to see them both in the Premiership, even if that is highly unlikely!I love both teams and would never give up my support for either of them. Why set up this poll then, if you think that?? I think you can only really, support one team. The closest i have to supporting another team is Rangers. Everyone has other teams they like etc, but i couldn't support two teams, i just couldn't.
DB11 Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 Yes. Leicester and England (if you could call either of them a football team that is )
Darkzzz_ Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 i dont agree with supporting more than one team.... but i agree with following another team... big difference... example.... i support and love Leicester... when we lose it hurts!! really hurts.... but i follow barcelona... when they lose i dont feel like i do when leicester get beat.... i could never devote all my passion on more than leicester.... i think that is disloyal and very fake!! i also follow Juve as my missus is Italian and she is die hard Juve...! very difficult to be around her when they get beat...
Fox You Forest Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 Coalville town la la laaOneee Alvin jarviss Me too, go the ravens =)
the_bowman Posted 27 December 2007 Author Posted 27 December 2007 Why set up this poll then, if you think that?? I think you can only really, support one team. The closest i have to supporting another team is Rangers. Everyone has other teams they like etc, but i couldn't support two teams, i just couldn't. I set the poll because I wanted to find out what everyone else's feelings were. BUt, in response to what everyone else has said, I still support both teams vigourously - I have a season ticket for Burton and I go to Leicester matches when I can. The first thing I do when I get on the net is to check both team's websites, and I have both a Burton and Leicester flag hanging on my bedroom walls. I wear my Leicester and Burton shirts alternatively And if they drew each other in he cup, I wouldn't cheer for either. I'd be both upset and happy with whatever result came out of it, as one won and one lost. I'd just want whichever one won the match to go on and win the cup, as only one team can do that anyway. I just want both teams to do exceptionally well, and I love them both, not just follow their results.
Head Honcho Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 I've always supported Leicester and Rangers and I regularly go and watch my local team Newport home and away. I see no reason for this to be strange as I doubt they'd ever meet in competition! I also go and watch Cardiff but I'd be lying if I said I went and supported them.

LeeCovFox Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 i support leicester and leicester only at club level, but have from time to time had periods of watching other teams regularly. My uncle played for Birmingham, Wolves and Peterborough in the football league and we always got tickets as a family to him play so i watched those teams regularly when he played for them. Right now i live in coventry and if for whatever reason i just cant get to Leicester to see them play then i have no issue watchin cov, especially as their student prices are a lot lower and i have mates who support em. Would be a bigger problem if i considered cov to be a rival, but ive always had a soft spot for them fromt their perennial relegation battle days and ive never considered any west midland club to be a rival, with only Forest, Derby and Notts County when we played in the same league meeting the criteria necessary for me. It even took me a while to consider Derby to be a rival. When we beat em in the 94 play off final i didnt, i duno why, maybe cus i was young, didnt understand, and we were better than them. at that time Forest wre bloody good, so i hated em. Wasnt until 96 when Derby went up automatically and we needed the play offs, and we both went on to become very decent Premiership sides that they actually became the team that i now hate most of all.
The Stig Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Used to be a Man U fan when I was young, I still like to see them do well but my support for them is nothing for them compared to city.
WetFlannel Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I think I might go support another team after that display
lavrentis Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I have always been a Leicester supporter from the day I was born, I cannot In any case be a supporter of another club in England. Meanwhile trips abroad have made me see AEK Athens play football and I "supported" them I suppose. But In my eyes I only support Leicester and No, you can only support one club or there's no real love for your club.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 yes ! Coalville Town - Adam Stevens black and white army! Theres only 1 Alvin Jarvis!

the_bowman Posted 5 January 2008 Author Posted 5 January 2008 I suppose it's all dependant on how you define 'support' Me, I define support as haveing more than a geniuine interest in a team, really wanting them to succed from deep in your heart, sharing in the immense jubilation when they do well, and being reduced to tears when they fail. That is how I define 'supporting' a team, and that is how I feel about Leicester and Burton.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 haha yes i was with jack!! which one was you ? the smoker or the boozer ?! its a good atmosphere down coalville isnt it, i was speaking to sam we should go to some away games! pick on there keeper!

acooling08 Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 i think you can support 2 teams if you were born somewhere but live somewhere else so you could support both teams.
TrickyTrev Posted 9 January 2008 Posted 9 January 2008 As well as Leicester, I also support McDons to an extent, despite them being a franchise team because they are local Whats wrong with the proper football club in the same county as you? Being a native Lutonion myself I always keep an eye out for Lutons results and will go and see them once or twice a season because a few of my mates are season ticket hoders. But frankly, I love it when Leicetser beat them and can't ever imagine having the same passion and love for another club. Not sure it is possible at all really.
