Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Anyone who received that PM with the Walkers to Wolves signature in can vouch for the fact that it contained a phrase along the lines of it being good-natured fun.

WetFlannel Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Jesus, why can't some people appreciate the fact people may not want or can't see their team play
lildave3 Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Jesus, why can't some people appreciate the fact people may not want or can't see their team play Why would you not want to see your team play?
Leicester Lass Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I'm confused See http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=45391
WetFlannel Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Why would you not want to see your team play? maybe you have things to do... money could be spent on better things... use your time more constructively... dont know the directions to the stadium
danny. Posted 28 December 2007 Author Posted 28 December 2007 I can barely say anything in the LCFC forum without somebody bringing up the whole "you've never been to a game" bollocks. Surely if you have never been to a game though, then that isn't bollocks, but a fact. Also, how can any opinions/commentary on the game been taken seriously if you weren't there (Sky matches aside)?
Steven Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I got this from Ian Ormonpops. Hello, myself and Fez have come up with a little campaign to encourage your friend and mine Walkers to attend a Leicester City match for the first time. Please add this to your sig and we'll see what we can achieve together! It's a good-natured idea and hopefully he will see the funny side. Cheers, Kokopops P.S. Is that Lee Remick?
lildave3 Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 maybe you have things to do... money could be spent on better things... use your time more constructively... dont know the directions to the stadium What kind of person would not want to see his team play? Especially one that's signed up to a fans forum of said team.
Joe. Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 It's just people can't accept your opinions on the Leicester team Walkers when you only ever see whatever's on Sky. That's when you get the whole "you've never been to a game" thing up.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 See http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=45391 Cheers me dears The whole signature thing was a good-natured idea which me and Fez came up with when we were chatting away one time. It wasn't intended to take the piss or anything, we just figured Wolves away would be the easiest to get to from Birmingham. We certainly didn't mean anything malicious by it. I can only ever remember bringing up the fact you've never been to a game once, when I didn't agree with you saying don't go to matches if you're pissed off, and I actually thought it was a fair point to bring up. I wasn't exactly the most regular attender before this season, I know how annoying it is when you haven't got anyone to go with, or when you've got a bit of a distance to travel (Lincoln to Leicester by train used to be a 'mare!). At the end of the day we just thought it'd be nice for you to see the lads play, and resorted to the medium of signaturii. P.S. Is that Lee Remick? Oh aye, big time.
Floating Fox Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 The one thing that I can't stand is people who try & have an opionion on games when they haven't watched it.
Tevez Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 maybe you have things to do... money could be spent on better things... use your time more constructively... dont know the directions to the stadium AA route planner?

I don't doubt that the origin of this idea was well meaning , if a little patronising, but as soon as got that PM (from Fez I think) I could see exactly what it would turn into. This has just become an excuse to bully one of our younger members from the safety of their keyboard, from some people who ought to be old enough to know better. What exactly has Walkers done to anyone to deserve such treatment? So he's never been to a match, so what? If you think that makes his opinions worthless then ignore them. It's time this subject was dropped and people moved on.

His opinions are no more "worthless" than anyone else who comments on a match when they've listened to it on the radio, that's always been my view.
Webbo Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 I think some people are taking this way too seriously. If you're talking about me you're probably right. I just can't stand bullying and I didn't appreciate the tone of the thread.
Finnegan Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Walkers is consistently sarcastic, moody, petulant, offensive and rude. People don't dislike him because he hasn't ever been to a game, they dislike him because he doesn't present himself on here as a likable person. It's alright him playing the internet-bullying (haha, whatever), sympathy card now that his aggressors can be perceived to have taken it "too far" - but why doesn't he take a look at his attitude in posting since joining and look to try and be less of a dick if he wants to make friends? And if he doesn't want to make friends, might I dare to ask why he's on an internet community forum in the first place? I personally thought the Walkers to Wolves thing was amusing. I'm also confident in the decency of Dave (Fez), James (TPH) and Alex (Kokopops) as human beings and if Walkers swallowed his pride, took it all as a bit of fun and turned up at the Wolves game with a sheepish grin and took a bit of banter on the chin, they'd be all too happy to keep him company at the ground. I suggest, to some of the bigger moaners on here, you turn up to Vicky Park on the 26th/27th (if it goes ahead) and just come and meet a few people. Because behind the keyboards, they're all just fairly sound lads and I think if people toned down the e-dramaz they'd realise that a bit.
Brainy Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 His opinions are no more "worthless" than anyone else who comments on a match when they've listened to it on the radio, that's always been my view. I understand that - that being the reason I only read these post-match threads in the LCFC forum and never comment in them.
