The Reverend Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Give him time. What else can we fans do? Support the team, no matter how shit it may be.
Raj Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Im as frustrated as every1 else. I hate seeing my club in this position. But there are people, not necessarily posters in these threads, who seem to believe that we have a divine right to be in the top flight. Traditionally we are a yo-yo club, too good for this league, not good enough for the top level. There are a whole host of clubs of similar size or predicament who believe that thay should be where we want to be. One of them beat us today. But football these days is more fluid outside of the Big Four than it ever has been, with new money alloowing the likes of Wigan, Reading, Bolton, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Birmingham etc to overtake us. All of those ckubs with the possible exception of Fulham are traditionally smaller than us. But tradition counts for bugger all in these financially rich days. And we, as City fans, are just going to have to sit tight, support our team, and manager until out turn comes. It will. Football is cyclical. Personally, i thiink Ollie is the right man for the job, he was my first choice. I might be wrong, time will tell. But either way, i want the best for him, cus he wants the best for himself, which is to make this cllub a success again. I couldnt give a fcuk about a divine right to me anywhere. I want a fcuking team who care about the club as much as the twats who support the club. i want a team who can actually win a game NOW and AGAIN. I know we aint EVER gonna win anything again. I even accept the fact we may never see the Premier League again. I just want a FEW wins NOW and AGAIN. Is that asking for too much?? If it is then fcuk it.
Suffolk_fox Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I agree - we really must give a manager some chance to make an impact - changing manager every few months is never going to be any good and Ollie is as good as anyone. Remember, he got Plymouth to 7th!!! When were we last there????
maddog Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Thats a 50% defeat record under Holloway and only 2 wins. o dear o dear, much worser than Megson, Burrows, Allen etc
Daggers Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I got better things to do.like have a FIGHT! You scare me.
Raj Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 The only thing we can do at times like these is take the piss out of our club. Its for the best Support the team, no matter how shit it may be. Its true Geezer BUT there is only so much people can take. I really feel for the ones with kids and OAPS who goto home games and all the loons who travel the whole country supporting us. Its not cheap nowadays either. ....oh.....ignore me....i'll be alright later......
LeeCovFox Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I disagree Raj. I think we will see the Prewm again, and I think we will do it within the three years Milan wants us to. I even think we might win something again, I have to believe that, or theres no point to this whole fvckin exercise. But this season is a write off. We r sh!t. And for 20 odd quid, its not good enough.
richy2704 Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Wouldn't have minded if ithe old one was Windass..... unfortunately Ollie only knew Fatass Its funny cos its true, oh by the way Windass scored two against us today one chip over Super Luke McCormac(allegedly a Leicester target) and a blinding free kick top corner from about 25 yards. We still won though, see you in the draw..................next year.

They are (apart from a player or two) a team which was put together by Bad Dog, Kelly, Levein, Etc. Put fookin Mourhino in charge and he wouldn't achieve much more for a few months either.

I doubt any one who is upset over our current position harbours thoughts of such granduer as the Premier League they just want to see a team of players that look like they can play football, look like they want to play for LCFC and have the ability to win more than 4 home games in a year. As for being cyclical that's pretty much an excuse for poor management. Besides cyclical doesn't have to involve fighting relegation for 4 seasons on the trot and making no progress what so ever. With respect to support this club is getting, through it's attendances and taking into consideration the high cost involved more support than most and frankly more than it deserves. People are entitled to provide constructive criticism and to express anger and frustration at those in charge when they are making a complete and utter fook up of managing this club.

Yes you will do mate. Well done for getting to the next round. Bit of a pointless exercise tho, you aint gonna win it are you?

Put fookin Mourhino in charge and he wouldn't achieve much more for a few months either. I understand your point of view but Allen and Megson were both achieving more with those same players. I fully expexted as to tread water at the same level until Ollie got his feet under the table but I see no justification for worse performances and worse results with the same players. And i'm not saying he should go but he's certainly not beyond criticism and is under performing as badly as the players are.

Oh just FCUK OFF pal!!! We got enough shit to deal with without gloaters!!! Not to me she doesn't, although it's mostly inaudible groaning GGGGGRRRRRRR!!!!!! DAGGERS!!!!
LeeCovFox Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Davie G you're right, people are allowed to criticise constructively. I just dont agree with some that Holloway is ballsing things up. I think hes come in, and found he has a very difficult job to do. And to be fair, we watch the games, so we know just how true that is. I think Holloway is suffering because of previous bad management, and needs time. Id say the same for anybody who was in charge of our club right now. As a rule im against chairmen interfering in transfer policy. But Milan has experience of taking a club who were in a similar position to us on to greater things. And i cant understand why he didnt spot something was amiss in Allens summer dealings when it was clear to me and many others that Allen had got over excited by the prospect of a big budget.
Bluemoon Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Yes you will do mate.Well done for getting to the next round. Bit of a pointless exercise tho, you aint gonna win it are you? A bit like the football league for all of us then

Excellent post Shiltonfox.

But Milan has experience of taking a club who were in a similar position to us on to greater things. i cant understand why he didnt spot something was amiss in Allens summer dealings 1. Megson managed to get results with the same players 2. He was lucky - look at his full record 3. Because he is inept and was responsible for almost every signing
The Reverend Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I understand your point of view but Allen and Megson were both achieving more with those same players. And i'm not saying he should go but he's certainly not beyond criticism and is under performing as badly as the players are. Its clear to see why Ollie is ''underachieving'', because he is playing a more attacking style, which is not working and with the players we have, is not going to work. Megson was defensive overload, and that is the style that suits the players we have, simple as. As for Allen, cant judge him, he had about 4 games ffs.

Sure he has a difficult job but it's the same one and the same players Allen & Megson had and he's doing worse. He's making lots of mistakes and many of them in public. He's renowned as a motivator of players - so why are they looking worse than ever? As for Mandaric we'll never now how much interference he had in Allen's management or the recruitmnt process so I'll not go there but if you think he's got a successful background with his ownership of football clubs I think you'll find your mistaken. He's been succesful once and that was down to his money and Rednapp's expertise. Mandaric's problem is that he was lucky once but has yet to master the art of winning the Manager lottery a second time.
adam Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Couldnt even come out and give us an interview. Piss poor
