How about a FT fundraiser or two?

1Maybe a members only lottery thingy where everyone slings in a fiver and if we get 100 entrants, the winner gets a season ticket for next season and the remaining money goes to FT??

2. Maybe the next footy get-together everyone can do some kind of sponsorship thing as well? I don't know but there must be a few ways of raising a pound or two for the forum?

1. Good idea.

2. £5 charged to each player to play, proceeds going to FT?

Could we charge an entrance fee at the FT footy of fiver a player?

Should mean that once all FT footy match expenses are met, we can chuck the rest towards the running of FT.

Sounds fair.

I'm not sure why the running costs have to be a secret? Running a forum on open source software, on a shared open source platform should not cost very much (like 10-20 quid a month with a generous amount of bandwidth) - unless a "self hosting" solution is in place.

Don't get me wrong I have no "i'm not grateful" thoughts - I'm just thinking if I knew the actual cost I would be more likely to contribute and work my contribution based on the actual cost (and the fact that probably only 5-10% max would contribute).

Why do you have to complicate things?Just decide how much, if anything, you want to donate £2, £3, £5, £10 :dunno: and just send it, it's not rocket science.

Yes.

What's more is he can also decide on whether to donate to the site without knowing the far end of a fart too.

First post so be kind! Excellent site that keeps me sane when stuck listening to the French going on about Marseille all the time.

Depending on the running costs of the site why not look at getting a company to sponsor it, like many other things in football. They get their logo on the site and allows a link, in return they are charged the cost and then the donations could be used for other things.

One condition it cannot be Topps Tiles!

We should ask The Aviary to sponsor the site with a 10% discount for all members

That wouldn't be much use to most of our female members..

Disagree. Females welcome...... and there's a bar

And would you care to tell us what the prices in the bar might be?.. ;)

I'm sure you know given your knowledge of the establishment. I'd happily buy a woman in there a drink. You have to buy your own I'm afraid

I'm sure Ultra only knows of the place by passing it en-route to The Fan Club.

Who would be up for the Foxestalk Lottery?

100 places up for grabs, you put a fiver in and the winner gets a season ticket for next season? The rest of the money thats left goes to Foxestalk.

I`ll start the ball rolling

A few weeks ago any lottery offering a season ticket as a "prize " would have made a loss. My season ticket in the prawn sandwich section is just short of £500 so to make any money you'd have to rig the draw ala the BBC/GMTV phone ins

"and the winner is .... Archie Finch aged 7 who wins a £78 junior season ticket...."

I wonder if activities e.g Golf day , Go Karting etc would be a good way of getting people together and raising money if it's needed. Of course the down side of such a suggestion is that some poor bugger may have to organise these things and apathy may rule

Correct..

Actually, I have had a drink in there - way back when it was still the St Pat's Club.
