tbf Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 I went to a few Sheffield United games last year when they were in the Prem, they sing a song just pre-kick off, "you fill-up my senses..." the ref blows half way through the song and the fans keep singing, it's good cos everyone knows the song, young and old, and it really sets up the atmosphere. search "you fill up my senses" on youtube if you are interested. shame we don't have a tradition like this.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 I would love us to have an anthem like 'Blue Moon' and 'You'll Never Walk Alone' that would be pretty class just before a game the whole ground singing it.
Staf Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 I personally used to like the post horn gallop after the goal but i hate the chelsea dagger like someone said it makes us look like a plasic club i personally dont like it bring back the post horn gallop
Sods Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Nearly double say no. Thanks a lot Martin fooking Allen
Asha Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Yes. 100%. Maybe because I'm only 15 and that's the way I've been bought up, or maybe it makes me wish we score even more just to celebrate and dance to music.

Have you tried the local community centre, do they have youth club, maybe they play music there and you can dance to that!
Asha Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Have you tried the local community centre, do they have youth club, maybe they play music there and you can dance to that! Hilarious You can't score at the community centre anyway
the_bowman Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Yes, I think it should, the classic 'fotball songs' - one that go du du du du, if you get what I mean I think add to the atmosphere. Just taking one example, at Burton we get one of the 'du du du du' songs, and it's great to have everyone on their feet, singing (?) along to it, clapping in time. But I can understand how some people prefer it without.
Flynny Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Can we have the Radio Leicester goal horn at the ground?
The Stig Posted 17 January 2008 Author Posted 17 January 2008 Nearly double say no. Thanks a lot Martin fooking Allen Your right, he chose Chelsea Dagger as the goal music.
Ultra Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Stick sugababes - about you now on and I'm keen. But chelsea dagger is played at way too many clubs and represents the plastic tin pot club which seems to be sweeping the nation and I hate to admit it but we're quickly becoming one. And judging by their reaction to the said "tune", a lot of the fans are happy to see us go that way..
Narborough Bod Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 And judging by their reaction to the said "tune", a lot of the fans are happy to see us go that way.. No no no The only decent music is the classic stuff that Sunderland belt out before their games. Makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Agree with some Kasabian before the game - dead loud - but only if PHG ever gets dumped. cut out the songs, take out the seats in the kop and bring back the old goal surge...awesome. Plus a few proper D.I.S.C.O. 's during the match and the atmosphere would come straight back... never gonna happen, but seriously, move the away fans back to the corner of the kop / east stand and get the singing die hard back in the kop - proper atmosphere. No need for artificial crap then. And please, no more waves when we're only 1-0 up with over half an our to go....f'%king tempting fate whinge whinge. PS I like the way the floor of the kop wobbles when we score and all jump up and down.
Ultra Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 No no no Sorry but it's true. Look at the North and East stands when we score. Many of them make no noise at games except when this comes on. Agree with some Kasabian before the game - dead loud - but only if PHG ever gets dumped. Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights is superb, even if Sunderland did nick the idea from the Smiths who played it before their gigs. .. Kasabian has been tried in the past but then dumped, presumably because of adverse opinions being expressed to the club. cut out the songs, take out the seats in the kop and bring back the old goal surge...awesome. Indeed, but it's a tad anachronistic now, even if we ever see terracing being restored.. Plus a few proper D.I.S.C.O. 's during the match and the atmosphere would come straight back... Too right.. never gonna happen, but seriously, move the away fans back to the corner of the kop / east stand and get the singing die hard back in the kop - proper atmosphere. No need for artificial crap then. The away section is where it is because of policing/security requirements, so can't be moved. The only other option is moving the Kop to the North Stand, which should be looked at. And please, no more waves when we're only 1-0 up with over half an our to go....f'%king tempting fate whinge whinge. Yeah, you can always tell when the brain-dead day trippers are in the house..

What are the policing / security requirements for the away fans? Is it because of the close proximity to the buses?
Raj Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Music is staying for the time being. Get used to it.
davieG Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Music is staying for the time being.Get used to it. One Team One Dream. A club that listens to it's fans. Community Club. Yes, Yes, Yes.
TrickyTrev Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Playing Chelsea fooking Dagger encapulates everything is wrong with modern day football. Men in suits trying to dictate to the fans what provides an atmosphere and in doing so removing all the spontanuity that is requisite for one in the first place. It is just so shit.
Simi Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Music is staying for the time being.Get used to it. Take it this was the result of the MASSIVE debate between the members of the FCC last night! Nice work people!
Bob666 Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 No! Reminds me of Wimbledon at Selhurst Park with 20 home fans inside the ground & they had to play music to create an atmosphere when Wimbledon scored - very sad.........
Raj Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 One Team One Dream. A club that listens to it's fans. Community Club. Yes, Yes, Yes. They did listen to the fans...and they said KEEP THE MUSIC!!! Just cos people on here may not want it,doesnt mean it speaks for the other 20,000+ does it. To be fair i was maybe one out of 2 who said they didnt want it,the rest were unanimous for it(out of perhaps 20 people) Take it this was the result of the MASSIVE debate between the members of the FCC last night!Nice work people! Please dont try and patronise me.

The shit fans deserve a shit team like we had only a few weeks ago. I'm guessin Jobber & Lisa were with you then? Can we start a new fanzine? Wher's all the passion gone? :fox:

I'm guessin Jobber & Lisa were with you then? Can we start a new fanzine? Wher's all the passion gone? :fox: The arguement for it is that where areas like L1 and some in the Kop may be able to 'celebrate' without the music, the other areas(ie Family + West Stand) are more inclined to clap and cheer with the addition of the music. I said it was abit Robotic and choreographed, but the majority said it was good to see the 'whole ground' join in the celebration........Sorry!!! On a side note, ive been trying to get healtier food introduced to the kiosks(im a Veg so dont really appreciate whats on offer!0 i know it wont happen as they are serving for the masses and have no inclination to change, even though society (of which football fans are included!)has moved away from pies and chips. I realise it ant gonna happen in my lifetime....just trying to emphasis some things you may feel passionate about, others couldnt give a fcyk....
Fatbloke Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Kilworth I know how you feel mate, I too "hate our fookin fans" am ashamed to be part of such a crap bunch of loosers, why ? well, because they don`t all agree with ME. now go away and grow up !!
