Osbourne deal on hold

This Osbourne dude has been described as a box to box kinda midfielder, last I heard that phrase, was to describe Jason Jarrett Ahhhhhh Wow how times have changed hey fokes! ;)

I'm not calling you. They're as good as any.

But James Chambers is probably the only fit player available and if I were Weso and King right now I'm not sure I'd want to go out half fit to be a sacrificial lamb.

Lack of games means both will be getting less and less match fit. This puts them in a lose/lose situation.

I don't believe they'll oust Oakley (signed to be a fixture) or Clemence (club captain) whatever they do and if they play badly because they're unfit the manager will think he's even more justified in taking that line.

Hasn't James Chambers played as much lately as Weso and King?

I suppose, for Jarrett, you could say that one side of the halfway line was being in one "box" and when he crossed the halfway line he was in another!:D

This 'signing' is as pointless as Rufus Brevett.

No it isn't we're short of center mids.

I cannot see any way that either Wesolowski or King will be fit.

When has either had a chance to play.

Weso came off the bench for a few second against Coventry. Big deal.

King got a little action as a sub against QPR but this week's reserves match was postponed and there's been nothing else. In fact I don't think King has been fully fit all season what with limited reserves appearances, sitting on the first team bench, international breaks, injury and postponed matches.

Truth is Leicester are forever having players hanging around losing match fitness. They did it last year too. It's another handicap that comes from having too big a squad and one that's half full anyway of players who aren't good enough.

Even tomorrow Holloway's talk about round pegs in round holes will look premature. Who do we have for the wings?

Sometimes we're like a fashion model with one set of clothes.

And I'm beginning to wonder if injuries are going to be the Achilles Heel with Laczko.

I hope not but he's only down as having 52 games since 2004 and only seven this year before he joined City which seems a bit thin for a 21-year-old.

Perhaps there have been reserve matches in between but do we know and do0es anyone know his injury history. I just wonder because I still cannot understand why Olympiacos would be so happy to let an obviously talented young player go so soon after they signed him.

Is it just "good business" or is he fragile?

Every team in the country has reserve players, the point in these players is that they come in when the first team are injured. If we didn't play these players as they haven't had games what are we supposed to do, play no one? Chambers and N Gotty are both defenders and to be honest I'd prefer to be playing center mids with lack of games that out of position players. And if they haven't had games how are we supposed to give them games if they don't get played because they haven't had games?

Exactly.

We're short of midfielders for the whole season not just for 1 month.

ie Pointless.

Ah, I see your thinking, I stand corrected you're right.

It's one of the eternal problems with big squads and you have to sort it.

What do you do? You make sure they get games. Even if you have to fix up friendlies or matches against the under 18's.

What earthly use is it having players who are not match fit?

Pre-Chritstmas we could have stopped playing people in the reserves who had no future at the club and played people who might have been on the bench Saturday for the first team.

Mattock did extra time one Wednesday and still put a good stint in Saturday. Where's the problem? It's only in the 21st Century anyone would have thought it to much for people to play Wednesday and Saturday.

Your right the club should sort it, but I'd still rather play Weso or King than the defenders, even if we play them for a half each. If they're half match fit problem soved.

Indeed and it's been a quiet week considering the improvements still to be made.

In fact we seem to have gone back rather than forwards. :(

I still think we'll see David Norris here before window closes. Even if this loan move gets through it looks a bit pointless to have Osbourne for a month only so I presume Ollie has someone lined up.

Hopefully there will be a late flurry if transfers in the last few days :)

My guess is it's cover until we get another midfielder in permanently.

But theres been rumours of this deal for a good week, possibly two weeks, I don't want us to panic buy or rush into signing certain players but surly in 2 weeks we could set a target on a player and looked into buying him (Maybe we have - but then is Ollie still going down the route of this loan deal?).

I'm not to sure on the point of this loan deal though tbh.

I always knew O'Niel was a ****.

:D

Ignorant tw*t. Martin O Neil was one of Leicesters best managers who got us in the premiership, kept us their, got us top ten finishes, signed Muzzy, Guppy, Savage, Lennon, Collymore, etc. so i don't think calling him a **** is right. Plus spell his name right.

I really don't understand the point of this loan MON is reluctant to let him go and only then to enable him to regain some fitness do we really want an unfit player in our team. Whilst at best we get him for 1 month with very little chance of extending and no chance at all of any permanent deal.

QUOTE (ibbosuk @ Jan 16 2008, 03:36 PM) post_snapback.gifI really don't see the point of Ollie getting this guy in for a month, by the time he has adjusted and settled into the team (thats if he plays at all) the month loan will be up!

As O'neill has already said "it will only be for a month"

We should concentrate on permanant signings or season long loans, which can lead to something.

I can only see this as a disruption to us. :nono::thumbdown:

We need to stop messing around and get another midfielder signed on a permanant deal, this could really cost us on saturday.

I hope that after all this pussyfooting about we won't bother with Osbourne, and instead reply to Norris' transfer request and make a bid for him. Norris would be an awesome player to have, especially on the wing or as cover in centre midfield. Bori could then be a backup winger.

For the Norwich game, if Lazcko is out then we should stick Sheehan in at left midfield, he might have a renewed energy after seeing Lazcko's performance and the threat that he will have to fight for his place. With Clem out and no Osbourne, I think Weso should take his place and have King on the bench; Bori to stay on the right wing, none of this Hume business, keep him up front where he thrives.

Stoke haven't done so bad on their over reliance on loans. Although, it is Stoke, and Tony Pulis is a short termist hoofing cu nt.

There's no harm in having Osbourne here for a month, which will allows us to bring in another midfielder before the transfer window closes.

It's got to be better than Andy King anyway.

O Neil was over rated.

Any one could have got us in that position with the players we had........ :)

P.S couldnt give afcuk if the lad comes or not...Tis only for a month at best...we dont need him!!!! :)

i wouldn't mind being 4th in the league and a constant fixture in the top 6/7!!

Osbourne's quality he'd be great to have around

I wouldn't mind either. But:

A) It won't last.

B) Lack of long term planning.

C) It's fuc king awful to watch.

D) Tony Pulis is a cu nt.

E) I'm doing a Thracian with the lettering points, and therefore you should automatically ignore this, a bit like Stoke's style of play.
