acooling08 Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Hot Fuzz was one of the best CD's i'd had in ages. Bought sam's town and it was crap.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 That Difficult Second Album syndrome perhaps? I always wanted someone to call an album "That Difficult Second Album", with their first album called "Eponymous Debut Album"
sdb Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Hot Fuzz??! I think you'll find Sam's Town's actually quite good after a lot of listening. has 1 or 2 tracks that are poor but Hot Fuss did too. (Debut was better though i agree)
Blue Bob Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 Hot Fuzz was one of the best CD's i'd had in ages. Bought sam's town and it was crap. I would say stick with it, I didnt get into it to start with after loving Hot Fuzz so much but it grew on me and I would now struggle to pick my favorite between the two.
Head Honcho Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I would say stick with it, I didnt get into it to start with after loving Hot Fuzz so much but it grew on me and I would now struggle to pick my favorite between the two. Hot Fuss is one of the best debut albums of all time but I'd say the same stick with sams town it's a grower.

MC Prussian Posted 19 January 2008 Posted 19 January 2008 I thoroughly enjoyed the recent "Sawdust" compilation. Some cracking tracks on there.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Ive never really listended to the killers Not my type i pefer r n b What u talking about? Don't limit yourself to one type of music! Honestly!
Alexikokopops Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Hot Fuss was the most disappointed I'd been with an album in a long while.
MikeyT Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 The Killers are so boring it's unbelievable. I agree! There is no difference out there to any other bands these days. Thay all seem to have the same dreary boring songs, with no passion or heart behind them. Another one i cant understand are The Scissor Sisters!!! I think they're awful as well!!! Every song sounds the same. Theres just no originality about any of them! Rant over! P.S. Sorry to all Killers and Scissor Sisters fans!
hebangsthedrums Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 I liked the Killers but I didn't like the second album and I just cant listen to Hot Fuss anymore. It was so overplayed and I don't mean in that 'I prefer the old stuff' pretentious way, but my first year at uni I must have heard Mr Brightside on every single night out - be it a cheese night indie night or whatever, at indie ones you'd generally always get at least 3 other tracks from them as well. Really ruined a decent album for me.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Cos it's indie for people who aren't really indie. Hot Fuss was ok - I own a copy - but indie? nah
grth2004 Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 hot fuzz was a classic album but i agree with the post before , that it was overplayed on the radio and clubs to the point where i struggle to listen to it now , i think it needs a rest from my collection for a year. As for sams town the killers decided to make a different sounding album that was influenced by there american routes and not the british ones that influenced hot fuzz , ive read interviews where they said thay got some much crap from the american audience for sounding too much like british indie , if you listen to hot fuzz you can hear the bruce spingsteen influence they tallked about so if you dont like that kind of american music you will probaly never get it , fortunatley i do and love sams town to bits , ive also seen them live 3 times now and the songs sound great in stadiums.
Libertine Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 uSS Anyway, I like the first 4/5 tracks or so on Hot Fuss but tbh it dies down a bit afterwards. And I never bothered with Sam's Town as what what I've heard is dreadful.
