ousefox Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Do you think they should be banned after the Sheff goal would not have happened if the balloon was not there?!?!?
syston_fox Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 You cant ban balloons It was just one of those freak things that occasionally happens. There's balloons at most games but have you ever seen it lead to a goal before?
Jack Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 It was just a freak accident, there must be ballons at near enough every football game and this sort of thing doesn't happen regularly.
lildave3 Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Ban Balloons?!? They just have removed them/popped them before kick off if they were there. If they were thrown on during the match then they should have removed them when the ball is out of play. I've often seen goalkeepers popping balloons a few minutes into the match.
lildave3 Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Were they not Man City balloons? Yeah they were. But you can't stop fans throwing balloons.
DB11 Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Serves 'em right (dunno what for but I think it's ironic that it was the fans' fault for their team conceding) It was just tough luck
ousefox Posted 27 January 2008 Author Posted 27 January 2008 You would have thought Joe Hart would have attempted to pop the balloons before this happened in the first place!
Brainy Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 You would have thought Joe Hart would have attempted to pop the balloons before this happened in the first place! Apparently the City coaching staff told the fourth official who then told the ref to tell Joe Hart to pop them all - this was before they scored. He didn't.
Durnerz Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Wasnt as funny as the coffee cup that bamboozled Forest keeper Barry Roche in the lead up to Paul Peschisolido's goal for Derby
Simi Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Do you think they should be banned after the Sheff goal would not have happened if the balloon was not there?!?!? I thought this might come up. No doubt some new shit rule will be made in light on a Prem team getting done over 'cos of it. Health and Safety!
davieG Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Yeah they were. But you can't stop fans throwing balloons. I wasn't suggesting they could/should just that it was Man City balloons and they were the team adversely affected. So they can't really complain
Joe. Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Madness. It's got to be Joe Hart's responsibility to get rid of them surely? I've got no sympathy for Man City at all. It was their own fans' balloons anyway.
AyewJoking Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 Rogue balloons, a mysterious pitch length skidmark from outter space. Who said the cup has lost its magic.
Raj Posted 28 January 2008 Posted 28 January 2008 If Pro footballers cant tell the difference between a fcuking balloon and a ball, they got problems innit???? And it was Man City balloons so fcuk em!!!!
purpleronnie Posted 28 January 2008 Posted 28 January 2008 Do you think they should be banned after the Sheff goal would not have happened if the balloon was not there?!?!? Are you serious? Maybe we should stop singing as the noise puts players off. Ban baloons - just when I think my fellow english fans couldn't surprise me....... Although it wouldn't surprise me if they did ban them. Thats the over the top, knee jerk reaction that we now seem to have to everything. Roll on April...USA here I come...
Thracian Posted 28 January 2008 Posted 28 January 2008 For all that you just knew it would happen one day. Just a great moment in football.
General Smuts Posted 28 January 2008 Posted 28 January 2008 Anyone got a vid of it? Can only find Joe Hart being told by the ref to pop balloons, can't see any goal.
Simi Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Well, Man City have complained that the Ref should have stopped the match. Expect them to be banned soon.
lildave3 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Well, Man City have complained that the Ref should have stopped the match.Expect them to be banned soon. Oh my. Joe Hart knows it.
Floating Fox Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Anyone got a vid of it? Can only find Joe Hart being told by the ref to pop balloons, can't see any goal.
