General Smuts Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 The travellator - surely the most hilarious invention ever? It stopped working for the first episode Anyone thinking of going to be in the audience theres very little point as the studio is absolutely codshite unless your a friend of the family. You can only see half the arena at any one time due to 2 big fook off walls smack bang in the middle of the arena either side of the gauntlet. The first 2 events, Duel and Hang Tough were over a big pool of water which was on the other side so we could only see them on the big screens, luckily however i was sat in front of the safety inspectors (who was rarely there) tv screens so i could see better as the big screens were shite and made out of dots. For the second half we were told we'd be able to see gauntlet and the pyramid when we could actually only see pyramid, literally the worst event they did. As the gauntlet ran through these big walls we could only see the start then once they got past the first gladiator we had to watch the rest on screen, and even the bits we could see were limited by the contenders family members all lined up either side of the gauntlet banging on the mesh that surrounds it. Then for the eliminator, we couldnt see all the start as that was in the pool down the other end. We couldnt see any of them till they started the climb up the pyramid and down the zipwire (where u can possibly see me on camera). Then they buggered off round the back for the travellator which we couldnt see as the big finishing wall was right in front of us so we had to watch on the screens until they burst through the wall. (the wall took 4 men to build each time and provided the laugh of the evening as it took them about 15 mins to put together. The announcer asked for any children good at puzzles to help out as the audience took the piss the whole time ) All in all it was an ok but frustrating evening which lasted from 1pm till 10pm. Mission. But the free tickets are only free as you would never pay for them, the production team get there moneys worth out of you as you have to create the atmosphere over and over again for each event and recording of that event. I did have fun with the safety inspectors tv though as it had buttons which changed the camera angle so i could see about 12 different angles which at one point kept zooming in on gladiators arses and breasticles. Quality. One thing too look out for aswell, the gladiators costumes go see through when they get out the pool . If anyone wants any spoilers about who wins etc ill happily post them. Look out for Emma though as she wants reet fit! And Gavin who caused all sorts of controvesy! Other than that John Anderson falling up the stairs to ref the gauntlet Kirsty Gallacher giving me a wave Ian Wright loving all the attention and loving my response after the Ian Wright Wright Wright songs petered out to Carpet Right Right Right. He clapped and gave me thumbs up And John Anderson sending me off after i started a Football Legend chant for Wrighty. Followed by 'You'll never play for Leicester' and 'Barry Hayles is bigger than this'
