Phube Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 There must be a few people who think this could work/be a good idea... Lets hear from ya! EDIT: No discussion (that's in another thread), just those who think "Good Idea" to say why!?
DB11 Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 NO! Bolton can't even fill there ground for a home game let alone one in bleedin' Japan!
act smiley Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 Those who voted bad or ugly (ie, anyone with any sense), need to sign the FSF petition, so that there's an outside chance that they might get listened to. http://www.fsf.org.uk/petitions/no-to-game...mp;di=#namelist

Asha Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 No way. Just a stupid idea. The premier league executives are all just a bunch of wankers who want the next buck. I disagree enough to have changed my sig.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Are Priemership players hard up for dosh? No! Do they complain about "too many" games? Yes! Then what the *@~* is this all about! Ugly! PS, love your new sig NSLL! PPS, just noticed a fair few people have got that sig too
DB11 Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I signed it Now I keep getting freakin' emails from all 20 Prem Clubs
Uncle Albert Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Now I keep getting freakin' emails from all 20 Prem Clubs Saying?
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 I think it's a good idea so long as ST holders don't lose out (and considering that it's being penned as an extra round I don't see how they are). It doesn't really affect me, as Sydney wankers are likely to get it. I don't get Sydney at all - scummers who like to act posh, put a fancy bridge in there and that somehow makes a city? The only reason Canberra exists is because Melbourne was a shoe in for the capital of Australia and Sydney types had a sook. Anyway, I doubt very much I'd go up there to watch Wigan v Reading or similar. If the Foxes or the Hoops came to town, well that's another kettle of fish entirely
Matt Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 From what I read Australia don't want it anyway, they'd rather work and develop their own leagues, and seeing as the introduction of the A League has made football or "soccer" more popular over there, taking Premiership games over would take a shine of their own leagues i'd imagine. They expected America to come out and say the same, but no they'd welcome it...
Moreton Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 No it aint a good idea. When a game is in like Japan then who will go to watch it? I think its to much to ask for for a fan to have to travel to Japan to watch the game.

There's no 'shine' on the a-league, make no mistake about it. Anyone who knows football knows that's it's a League One standard and not much better. So called 'marquee' players are rejects from Brazil, and the currect salary caps in place to help the smaller teams and grow the league mean that anyone who looks half decent goes to the US of all places where they can get a decent salary, or to League One/German lower leagues etc. There are many expats out here who would probably show up from all over Australia to watch their team play, or for the right fixture. I know many people over here who have a stump down the front of their pants over the suggestion. Sydney recently played LA Galaxy at theirs which was a success. I myself would like to see domestic clubs fare well in the Asian Champions League of all things where they face the best of China and Japan amongst other nations.
