10 years ago beating Man Utd and Chelsea, (they were shit 10 years ago but good now), now losing to Plymouth and Blackpool. 10 years ago when supporting Leicester i would never have imagined wed be playing these awful teams 10 years later and losing to them. Relegation from the Prem never crossed my mind back then.

A hell of a lot can change in 10 years, and we're certainly not the ones where most has changed.

No, you're absolutely right. To a startling extent, especially for clubs of middling size like ourselves, football is, to coin a cliche, cyclical. However, that cannot explain everything. So in answer to the original question, what went wrong? Peter Taylor and John Elsom. A deadly combination of irresponsibility and incompetence.

Without doubt the loss of Martin O'Neill and his replacement with that pathetic excuse for a manager, Taylor, is the reason this club has fallen so far. John Elsom wasn't all bad, however. He was massively instrumental in keeping Martin here longer than otherwise and ridding this club of the Gang of Four.

We've had far worse directors than him during the past decade..

I don't think Elsom was to blame, he always backed O'Neill when that idiotic "Gang of Four" were hell-bent on destroying our club. It is a shame that we have fallen so far, but in ten years time, you never know, we may be beating those teams again. Who thought after ten O'Neill matches that we would be in Europe a year later?

It all went wrong when Heskey left. The club could have progressed even further, but O'Neill probably saw that as lack of ambition and made up his mind to join Celtic. Then Failure came in, wasted £25 million and left us in a hole.

We have never recovered from that Wycombe match. If we'd have win that, it could be all so different.
