Phube Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 What do you think the next thing they'll announce is? I'm going for Sponsored Team names. Air France Arsénal Rolex Man Utd Shell Chesea!! I can see it now...
Uncle Albert Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Reducing teams to 18, because teams are moaning about fitness so they will play less games in a season.
Phube Posted 12 February 2008 Author Posted 12 February 2008 Video technology Although calling it stupid is a viewpoint.. It won't make them money will it!
dandannieldanok Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Although calling it stupid is a viewpoint.. It won't make them money will it! They would find a way.
sdb Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Reducing teams to 18, because teams are moaning about fitness so they will play less games in a season. a very worrying yet realistic possibility what else? games on the moon? clubs only allowed in the prem if they're owned by crooks/criminals/anyone whom amnesty international are after? continued bigging up of chelsea-liverpool fixtures? a seperate league for the top 4? obviously joke suggestions but i can actually see half of them happening! (the moon 1 isnt lucrative enough)
the_bowman Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Non-Contact. I can just see it coming, and it will be the end of football.
City_4_Life Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 Although calling it stupid is a viewpoint.. It won't make them money will it! Thay would propbably put sponsors all over the repalys. For example they would say "This goal line decision was bought to you by Carling the official beer of the Premier League" etc. Or some shit like that.
LeeCovFox Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Reducing teams to 18, because teams are moaning about fitness so they will play less games in a season. I'd actually be in favour of that. Less teams plus a winter break for me.
Jordan Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 FIFA wants 18 teams--I can see this happening at some point.
DB11 Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 As the number of allowed players on the bench have been increased perhaps the number of allowed substitutions?
hairy Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Adverts on Sky whenever the ball goes out of play.
purpleronnie Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Reducing teams to 18, because teams are moaning about fitness so they will play less games in a season. I think they should reduce it.
act smiley Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Replacement of the all-seater requirement with an all-executive-box requirement, perhaps?
AyewJoking Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Players to wear F1 style jump suits allowing for maximum advertising. American football style quarters instead of two halfs. If a player kicks the ball out into the crowd, whoever catches it goes in goal for the opposite team for the next ten minutes. In-game player interviews: Gary Neville is receiving treatment on a dead arse, get an interview going with Ronaldo asking him what he thinks of the game so far.
Staf Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 2 balls on the pitch at once to make it more entertaining
Asha Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Adverts for every pass of the ball. That cross was brought to you by Lily Allen's friendship securement grouping. That rise of the linesman's left arm was sponsored by Eurogames entertainment. Also... every football player has to wear a pedometer. Instead of reading - - - - steps...., it will say £ - - - -, meaning every step by a player gives the premier league a quid more to invest in more farfetch'd schemes to make even more money.
lildave3 Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I'd actually be in favour of that. Less teams plus a winter break for me. But more teams in lower divisions...
LeeCovFox Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 But more teams in lower divisions... They could restructure the whole lot. I'm in favour of regionalising the bottom two leagues anyway like they did in the 50's. It would certainly reduce financial problems lower down the pyramid given the reduction in travelling costs. Save the fans money as well.

LeeCovFox Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 So fans of better clubs are richer??? No thats not the suggestion at all. But anything that saves fans money at any level has to be a good thing.

Yes, but there would still be two extra teams in lower divisions...
LeeCovFox Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Yes, but there would still be two extra teams in lower divisions... This happened also in 1995/96, when the top flight was reduced from 22 to 20 clubs. The basement division increased in number from 22 to 24 clubs. There would be an increase in clubs further down the pyramid certainly, but not necessarily in the Football League. Promotion and relegation would simply be altered for one season like it was in 1994/95.
