LeeCovFox Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Does anyone see any massive parellels between us and the likes of Newcastle and Liverpool. Both teams have boards and fans that think they're way bigger than they are and lay every inch of blame on the shoulders of the managers.Ofcourse, the only difference being, we're way, way smaller than they are. What have we done in the past few years to deserve this massive community ego? We are clearly a huge club. We beat Watford 4-1 earlier this season you know... Edit: LeeCovFox slaps himself about the face several times for mentioning "that" match.
The Stig Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 We are clearly a huge club. We beat Watford 4-1 earlier this season you know... No we didn't, that was a Life on Mars style realistic dream that didn't actually happen and wasn't really real. Anyway I'm bored of constant manager stories, I've reiterated my point in thread after thread. Ollie needs to be given time to turn it around, he's still at the building foundations stage and I beleive he can bring us success, but it will take time. If antother manager is sacked this season I personally won't be having anything to do with the club for the considerable future. Thinking about it that'll save me a hell of a lot of money. Ollie out
eaststandtom Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I don't think we have arseholes for players at all. i am expecting a lot more from them. they are either arseholes for not utilising their ability or quite simply vastly overated which??
Leicester_Mad Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 If Holloway gets sacked anytime before the end of this season that will be my love affair with LCFC over...
Nick Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I think Holloway will stay. I think all this is speculative media crap. There isn't an available manager out there that I want at this club. And there is no evidence to think that anybody could do that much better with what we have, look at Billy D's Derby Squad..... what a difference Paul Jewel has made to the view of the Prem table..... Ollie can turn it around. I simply do not believe that he is that blind that he is unable to see his current tactics do not create scoring opportunities at anything like a level needed to make a serious assault on any concept of victory. I reckon Oakley and Clem will find form when there is balance in the mid. He has to start playing the wingers full time even if he thinks they can't cut it as its now proven that playing Hume on the wing is ineffective despite his tackling and terrier like qualities, he keeps the ball at his feet for too long, loses possession too easily and is no dribbling sprinter. He has qualities but these are not such mentioned in the job description of someone who plays on a right wing. Back to basics time. Midfield movement on and off the ball is a joke. This also contributes to defenders hoofing. As does poor width. DJ's runs look daft as he never gets any quality service - it just appears like he sprints towards the goal for no apparent reason. These players have no trust in each other, little faith in their roles and responsibilities and need time and some proper gelling by implementing effective team building techniques and effective man management. They are not getting the best out of each other - probably not even fifty percent of their best. N.

I also agree with you about DJ, he'll score some goals if he gets the service, as will Howard.
lookwhaticando Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I remain wholly unconvinced by both the denial from Milan and the statement by Holloway. I'm sure Milan has said something about a time for trust and stability before... only to wield the axe a couple of weeks later.

I fail to believe a single utterance from him, but at the end of the day I don't give a stuff about what he thinks or says - it is what he does that will go on to support or negate my current impression of him and his motivations. His period of tenure has been one **** up after the next coupled with lies and media spin. I thought he would be the best thing for this club in ages. I think I thought wrong.
ibbosuk Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Link imo Only if we drop into the bottom 3, will this (start) to be a possibility.
Koke Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I thought he would be the best thing for this club in ages. I think I thought wrong. We were quite desperate at the time and would've accepted take over from any drunkard. Hindsight is a great thing though.

Bit of a Lou and Andy situation isn't it, Are you sure you want Martin Allen Yeah I don't like him, want Megson!

Come on Dagg's, take my hand, walk with me a while to the happy place, sit down, relax. But check down the side of the sofa for spent syringes and mind yourself on the piano wire. Take a free sample of diamorphine on your way out and I'll see you tomorrow. Take Care Now, N.
davieG Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 This is the same Milan Mandaric who said "Ian Holloway is not in my mind for the manager's job" 8 days before siting next to him in a press conference? Not this Milan surely?
MikeyT Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I'm not being funny but if Holloway is sacked and that would make 5 this year, what sane manager in their right mind would want to come in and take over! I cant imagine many! At least not many with any sense! Also looking at where we are in the league and not being able to buy any players till the Summer! Its become a right mess down at City! Just leave Holloway where he is!!

I really must be a shit for brains.

There'd be plenty of takers in this modern, money-obsessed, era.
Ozwin Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 What a joke this football club is turning into.
Nick Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 What? I'm wrong on this?Goddamit! Mandaric was brilliant for the club after all? I really must be a shit for brains. No you are not wrong...... a little on edge maybe, but not wrong. Maybe I didn't articulate my meaning poignantly, I was referring to Mandaric's tenure of breeding optimism, though there seems to be hidden pitfalls, though we keep coming back carrying hope. The happy place was the football club and Mandaric's millions. Sitting in its comfort represented danger and the free drugs was a reference to the blind optimism that will make us all feel better. Looking at it again it wasn't very clear........ Do I look like Ultra when I stand like this? N.
Daggers Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Do I look like Ultra when I stand like this? No, but that shirt is not your colour at all. You need more pastel to accentuate your skin tone.
Nick Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 No, but that shirt is not your colour at all. You need more pastel to accentuate your skin tone. My face was horrifically scarred after the fire, Daggers as you well know, there is no need to make fun of me. (please see aside imagery)
demon_dog Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Let's face it, it's just one big bloody joke with whats going on at the moment. The only people that seem to care are us the true fans. Suggest that if MM does decide to replace the manager, the best thing he can do is get a fans committee together to pick the best applicant. MM clearly does not seem to be a good judge of character, probably easily swallows the bullshit given during an interview. I would have thought that a fans committee could see right through all the crap and bullshit, basically ask any prospective manager, "What's plan A and if that does not work what's plan B", if no decent reply then "Next applicant please" Let's face it we see them play week in week out, know what is needed to improve the squad, so why not. p.s. Thracian for Chairman?
eaststandtom Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 They're not arseholes though are they, that's just getting personal. oh dear dont it so seriously gallows humour
