He's not bald Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Believe me on this, just heard it from a great source, Dowie will be in the manager's seat for the game at Cov away I've just been told that as well.Apparently Ollie is "dead man walking" regardless of Saturday's result!
Father Ted Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I am not on this bandwagon. I've already stated my reasons in other threads but I think it's sad state for a football club to be in when we're running round like Mary Queen of Scots shouting 'off with their heads' at every foreseeable opportunity. I know we may go down, but it is a price we may have to pay for stability. If we bring in yet another manager they will want to sign another set of players and ship out the new 'dead wood'. It's going to be the same story all over again. Thanks mate. Valuable info. Seriously, it was a very reliable source that told me Milan wanted him the first time but he stayed at Cov and then second time but he stayed at Cov, now he's a free agent and coming to Leicester.
Phlashman Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I see all of the articles are using Milan's one year Interview as their source, and then adding some spin. As someone said, hopefully a win on saturday and we'll be able to forget all of this.
Ric Flair Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I'm not Holloway's biggest fan, never have been. But he did a comendable job at Plymouth and he's probably as good as any of the other managers out there. Dowie scares me given his recent exploits at Charlton and The Shitters. Davies is decent. but he's a mardy bastard who would end up windmilling Mandaric or vice versa. Holloway's having a tough time of it right now and we should be doing a lot better given the squad we have, it only goes to show what mediocre teams can do in this league just look at the run Norwich are now on under a clueless non-entity, probably won't last but they live to fight another day. We don't appear to be in that luxury right now. Holloway has got to find those motivation powers he's meant to be famed for because we are nose-diving and it appears the players are as confused as they have ever been and given Ollie's been here for a few months now, that is unacceptable.

That is Holloway's squad very much now and he said to judge him when he has his squad. I would much rather have preferred Roeder but for some reason City fans didn't want him but if he does what's best for a club then that's fine. But Holloway is not doing the best for this club - Square Pegs, Round Holes - NOT FIXED, And the thing he said in the Mercury - Buck up or your out - DOES HE THINK THAT THAT DOESN:T APPLY TO HIM. Judge him when he has his squad - NOW IS THE TIME! IH is the biggest bullshitter in football and must go.
Father Ted Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 How about Paul Sturrock?!!! You mean Christopher Biggins? ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR... NO
DaveTrevaskus Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 You mean Christopher Biggins? ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR... NO Was only meant as a wind up. I'm a Plymouth fan! In all seriousness (I come in peace) I was gutted when Ollie left, and despise the way he did it, however you are very lucky as you seem to have figured out his bullsh!t a lot earlier than we did (or, QPR before us). I'm happier under Luggy now, even if we are three or four places below where Ollie left us. He's not pestering the board to spend out of their means and blaming everyone but himself for the team not winning. Ollie knew our better players were going to leave, however wasn't prepared to go the hard slog to work through it and joined MM at Walkers thinking he can buy success without working so hard. He's taken you for mugs, and no fans deserve that. Ollie was clearly planning on taking David Norris and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake to the Walkers, this is obvious by the way he told Norris he could leave in Jan (without consulting the board) and told the board that SEB's contract shouldn't be renewed. After that backfired, he seems to have got a bit desperate and bought players like Howard and Oakley who seem to have come for the cash, not a serious promotion push within the next 24 months. I reckon Billy Davies would be a very good manger for you. Cotterill is IH's standard, Dowie has been found wanting at the Ricoh. Can't really think of any others. MM has made is a poor career prospect. He's the one you should be booting out. Only my humble opinion, obviously. I am over the Ollie hating now, especially as he's going to end up where he belongs, unemployed and bored back in Bristol. He'll end up with a £1.5M pay off from MM and go to bristol Rovers in a couple of years. I wish you all the best for the rest of the season, for what it's worth, I don't think you'll go down whether you stick with IH or not.
pafcfan10 Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Would love it if you sacked Holloway and replaced him with Dowie/Davies then went on a run to finish strongly. It's not Leicester, or the fans we hate.
eaststandtom Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 you know, holloway strikes me as the kind of guy who would offer his resignation. this wouldnt surprise me. i still think, even by milans standards, we are too early for a sacking the suggestion that ollie has offered to resign, tells me that we have a bunch of total arseholes for players who couldnt give a fook who manages them so long as they get a move and good money. i dont blame the big picture on ollie even if one or two team selections id question. it goes depper as we all know
eaststandtom Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 If we win on saturday,, this will all be forgotten. thanks for bringing me back to my senses. i was thinking 'what if he was sacked?'

Darkzzz_ Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 It is a joke!! I cant quite believe i have just read that article... The End.
breadandcheese Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I am rapidly losing interest in our football club. We are a joke. To consider sacking him is ridiculous. Is this really Holloway's team? He pinpointed wingers as the problem in our team. We do not know what moves he made in the transfer window that were rejected. Yes, we signed two inexperienced gambles (in the Hungarians) but we were knocked back by Martin and outbid for Norris. We do not know if we attempted to sign anybody else, but the point is, can you say he's had enough time to make his team.
Wycombe Fox Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 LCFC will soon become a laughing stock. Have you been away for 12 months?
teblin Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 thanks for bringing me back to my senses.i was thinking 'what if he was sacked?' What if we lose?
eaststandtom Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 What if we lose? i think that our so-called 'underperforming' players have a lot to answer for here. i dont think another manager can make a difference at this point. he'd still have the same shit to work with. motivation? the anguish of the fans should be enough to motivate them not the manager. play well, for the fans and yourself. that should be enough. tossers
Stevosevic Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I don't think he is the man for us, i never have, but another managerial change this season will be unbelievable and i feel it would send us down. MM has a huge decision to make.
DBEightyFive Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Maybe MM is banking on the honeymoon period of a new manager and a winning streak that goes with it to get us clear (apart from when Ollie came in and we went on a whole one game winning streak)
DaveTrevaskus Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 fair playyou deserved the win on saturday and it would have been a travesty when we nearly sneaked one at the end I think Ollie is one of those managers, like Glen Roeder and others such as Steve Cotterill and Gary Johnson. Give then no money, and they'll galvanise a squad and create a team work ethic that will do well for you. Give them money and they will buy Steve Howard!
