Ian Dowie can piss off. Holloway's better than him, he had one fluke season with Crystal Palace and he's now some sort of CHampionship god. Holloway will do well in time IMO, people are just too impatient and if the chairman cared enough he'd know to wait it out.

Back of tonights mercury about sums it up,Spent 11mill in 12 months and in a lower position than we were this time last year and played 1 more game, Ollies record to date won 4 from 17,That to me is a sacking record who ever they are,IMO MM is piss poor at picking managers he was very lucky at pompey with HR. But who was that french guy he took on he was not there 5 minutes before he bootted him up the arse.

I'm not Holloway's biggest fan, never have been. But he did a comendable job at Plymouth and he's probably as good as any of the other managers out there. Dowie scares me given his recent exploits at Charlton and The Shitters. Davies is decent. but he's a mardy bastard who would end up windmilling Mandaric or vice versa.

Holloway's having a tough time of it right now and we should be doing a lot better given the squad we have, it only goes to show what mediocre teams can do in this league just look at the run Norwich are now on under a clueless non-entity, probably won't last but they live to fight another day. We don't appear to be in that luxury right now. Holloway has got to find those motivation powers he's meant to be famed for because we are nose-diving and it appears the players are as confused as they have ever been and given Ollie's been here for a few months now, that is unacceptable.

For the last time, no he didn't. Again, he was riding on the back of an up and coming club with a good team/club spirit/ethic.

I tried to tell you the guy didn't have a clue tactically and that no player would believe in his cheerleading anymore once he had lied so blatantly to his employers and players at Argyle. It's all a very distasteful state of affairs, still chins up you lot....you're still a big club  .

Maybe but I reckon he has enough experience to find a winning formula given time. Even if he has been lucky or made mistakes he will have gained experience from that.

Big club?

Wind your neck in.

Leeds is still a big club, Plymouth...?

Haven't you found anything better to do yet?

Anyone who wanted a job for a couple of months followed by a big fat pay-off when the chairman gives him the heave-ho.

A huge wedge for very little effort? There'd be plenty of takers in this modern, money-obsessed, era.

I'm not so sure!

I can't beleive you're not admitting he did a good job for you lot. Unbelievable.

Much easier to criticise him than to admit they lost someone they liked to a team as bad as ours maybe :D

edit: eratic crazy spelling.

Milan and Ollie rally together over speculation

by Bill Anderson

We don't need this! That is Leicester City's view of the managerial speculation which sprung up yesterday.

City chairman Milan Mandaric instantly nipped in the bud any suggestion that he was considering another change of manager.

Three successive defeats and the availability of former candidates Billy Davies and Iain Dowie meant the situation was wide open to rumour.

Manager Ian Holloway now finds himself having to address an issue which is grist to the mill in football but a distraction to the job in hand, which is to lift City up the Championship table.

Holloway said: “The chairman came right out with a reply to the rumours and that is all that needs to be said.

“I can't tell you what he is thinking, other than he doesn't like where we are in the league. And neither do I, because I am a very proud man.

“And the lads don't like it either, but they have got to deal with it and that's what we are doing.

“I was fully aware of the size of the task when I came here, not just because of Milan's reputation for managers getting thrown out, and that's what has reared its ugly head now.

“I think he has been very calm. We had a good chat on Monday about what happened on Saturday, and I explained what I felt the lads did wrong and told him how I am going to cure it.”

Mandaric, speaking from Monaco, gave Holloway his full backing.

He said: “I can't stop the speculation and I can understand why it is there. But changing the manager again is the last thing on my mind.

“I think Ollie is the right man for the job and this is the time for us to support him all the way, and that is what we will be doing.

“What we need now is stability, not another change. I believe we now have good enough players not only for us to get away from the bottom of the table, but to get up near the top half of the Championship.

“Of course, this is a difficult time, but that is the reason everyone should get together and support the team and the manager.

“I am sure results will get better, starting with Saturday's game against Norwich, and we can start to climb the table.”

The City squad have to focus on getting some reward against an in-form Norwich side at the Walkers Stadium tomorrow, and the last thing they needed was any added pressure.

Holloway, though, is confident an upsurge in fortunes can be achieved and said: “I saw enough positive signs at Watford to feel that we are good enough to climb away from trouble.

“A couple of wins would put us in a nice position, but at the moment it is not good. If we carry on the way we are going, it might look as if we are going to lose all the time but I don't believe that is the case.

“The players have been learning from the last three games and I believe they will stand up and be counted.”

Holloway has managed to get a team to a respectable position in this league.

We have got through more managers in the last 5 years than any team I know.

No matter who manages our players, our position has been precariously close to the relegation zone.

There is a logical conclusion to this very simple matter of affairs. Maybe its that the PLAYERS aren't up to the task?

Or maybe that the instability caused by so many managers is disrupting them?

Either way, the solution is clear.

SACKING YET ANOTHER MANAGER IS NOT AN OPTION!

Seriously, coming onto this board is beginning to depress me more than the position of our club.

I think you're over stating the situation very few fans are suggesting Ollie should go this more about Media gossip than the fans.
