MC Prussian Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 * Groan * Master LWICD has just left his Magic Pillow Kingdom and now roams the Forest of FT. Got the day off? Feck, I wish I could do that and still get paid for idling around.
lookwhaticando Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Famileh day o'er here today. I still work today, though. Provincial holidays don't apply to me.
Joe. Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 This is mine. Does't fit round the wrist too well but still tells the time nonetheless.
Unit Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Breitling's are actually very under rated watches. I like most of their styles, they usually have a large face. This is my favourite, it looks complex, and expensive if you didn't know how much it really is. It's about £2,500 but could easily pass for a £10K watch. That's horrible!! I'm not into super-expensive watches but I like the Mont Blank ones the tigers get for being player of the month or something.
filbertboy Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Way back in 1977 I got a temporary job working at Sekonda Watches. It was to last 6 weeks....I stayed 15 years.......never ever wear a watch these days..........cant stomach them.......tick fecking tock .......think I need help
Samilktray Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Have this surprisingly classy nike watch, leather strap n the works. Problem is... i have no idea how to change the time so its an hour behind. Problematic to say the least.
danny. Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 that breitling is disgusting, so messy and over complex!
Rincewind Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I thought watch batteries cost under a fiver. Don't they all have nearly the same type? A button cell battery. You can get a card full of them in the pound shop. Or am I a cheapskate?
Zingari Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I thought watch batteries cost under a fiver. Don't they all have nearly the same type? A button cell battery. You can get a card full of them in the pound shop. Or am I a cheapskate? thats true but those batteries are useless and some only last a few days ( i know, cos i too am a cheapskate, and i've tried them ) i may have got a bad batch of them or something as i've never tried them again, maybe someone else has found them to be ok
Rincewind Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I agree. I only mentioned that as an example. Waste of time really because most of them you dont need. Be as well just to have a battery watch fitted in a shop. Still shouldn't cost much more than a fiver though.
DB11 Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 This is mine. Does't fit round the wrist too well but still tells the time nonetheless. I used to have that phone but I didn't like it and got a new one
Alexikokopops Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I used to have that phone but I didn't like it and got a new one Thank you for that little insight into your life.
DB11 Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Thank you for that little insight into your life. No problem Would you like to know I have just finished my drink of Coke?

Tommy G Posted 20 February 2008 Author Posted 20 February 2008 my latest addition, got 10 in total i am a sucker for watches. 2right about completing an outfit. Have you got 10 relatively cheap ones - say 100-300 notes or are we talking big purchases watch wise? Sorry if thats nosy
The Reverend Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Have you got 10 relatively cheap ones - say 100-300 notes or are we talking big purchases watch wise?Sorry if thats nosy I'm not on about you Tommy particularly (just you mentioning price made me think about this), but i hate it when people go on about the price of a watch. Yes they are nice bits of kit, but if its nice, its nice, whether it was 100 quid or 5k. I'm sure we've got a rolex lying around the house somewhere, but its knackered, doesnt work, but i bet if i wore it people would still be like aaah nice watch, that a rolex? Ridiculous.

Ridiculous. But I suppose you could apply the same principle to cars - why do people drive around in Range Rovers rather than just a vauxhall nova? It's either to do with looks or prestige - or both. Same principles apply to a watch. You could easily spot the difference between a 100 quid watch and a 3k one for example. If somebody said to me they had a Rolex or a Franck Muller watch for example then I would be impressed. Same principle if somebody told me that they had a ferrari/porche. I suppose you dont really appreciate a good expensive watch unless your a watch'' geek''. To put it simply it's not all about the looks, it's also to do with the mechanism. Hope that makes some sense!

lookwhaticando Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Range Rovers are driven by special people... the rich and famous. People who drive Novas are just special. This poor special bastard forgot to install the bonnet on his.
Tommy G Posted 20 February 2008 Author Posted 20 February 2008 Yeah, i see what your saying, i was gona use a clothes example. Exactly - depends if you get turned on by buying designer clothes or just the standard stuff. All personal choices at the end of the day! Cold night isn't it..

blue blood Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Have you got 10 relatively cheap ones - say 100-300 notes or are we talking big purchases watch wise?Sorry if thats nosy 7 of them are fairly cheap ones between 100-300 and 3 are time pieces, armani tag and a rolex. (its always a good idea where ever possible to pul the pin out to stop the batt running down as some of them get wrn once in a blue moon. My passion for watches was ignited about 10 years ago and usually buy one a year. I should be stopping over in dubai soon (pending the ok from doctor....long story) and i will get another one i think.
