Tommy G Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 I'm a big fan of watches myself, but don't know many other people that are/appreciate a good watch! Whats everyone got? Do you collect? I've got 4, a plain Armani one with a black leather strap, a Breil with an orange strap, a Tissot with a stainless stell bracelet. I have a Tag F1 aswell, the new chronograph one they have brought out recently looks classy. At some point in the future if I have a surplus amount of money I hope to Purchase a Rolex submariner, they are just amazing.
The Reverend Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 I dont collect them or anything, i've just got one, a Tommy Hilfigher one, leather strap. Not a fan of the metal strapped ones.
Guest Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Got a few watches but the one I wear the most at the moment is Also got a nice Junghans one that I've had since my 18th and an old Rolex that my Grandad gave me
Tommy G Posted 16 February 2008 Author Posted 16 February 2008 I just use my phone. I see you point. Wearing a watch isn't just about telling the time, it's more fashion than anything. A watch can show others your personality, and can make an outfit (without sounding too gay)
the_bowman Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 I have an 8 quid argos one... Although I would like a nice one I'm still waiting for someone to buy me one
lildave3 Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Where's SUAS with his Casio when you need him.
Alexikokopops Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I need a good watch. I need some more money.
lookwhaticando Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Tag Aquaracer. Tis nice. Fin de message.
Rincewind Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I used to have a Timex. I wear a replica at the moment. Forget the make but I got in a market on Majorca. It wanted a battery once and when I took it in a jewelers in Leicester they wouldn't touch it because it was a fake. A genuine one would cost a little more than the fiver I paid for it and probably not last as long. If its a clue its got a little green and red sheild emblem on the clockface. Lines not numbers and its got a movable ring round rhe edge and the date (not day) When I bought it I guessed it wasn't genuine but I needed one. Never expected it to last a long as it has. The name Tag rings a bell. just saw the above post. Not allowed to post the image This is the closest to it I can find. There are hundreds if you type in Tag.
Smudge Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 The year my son was born in 1968, I sold my car and bought a Breitling Chronograph Navitimer with a slide rule on it. When working on Spaghetti Junction, part of the M6, I used it all the time........pre calculators., great watch, still have it. After that I bought a Rolex which was crap and eventually gave it to my brother-in-law. I want a Glashutte Original, should have bought one two years ago when they were unknown.
Rincewind Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Strange this thread starting cos I just looked in my email junkbox and I have an email entiltled 'Perfectly crafted luxury timepieces. Sender Chelton Hammond. I've not wasted time opening it.
skinnydipper Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Reminds me of that old chestnut - What do you say to a man with no arms and no legs? Got the time on ye cock?
Zingari Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Reminds me of that old chestnut - What do you say to a man with no arms and no legs? Got the time on ye cock? :D he'd reply "no , but you could try putting two hands and a face on it"
MC Prussian Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Like every other "Decent Swiss", I wear a Swatch. In my case a Chrono, type "Windfall", metal strap. Btw, I didn't wear a watch for over two years before that.
kevinwpratt Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I have both the Oakley Timebomb and Oakley GMT And this is the first time i have tried to load images so i hope it works.....
Ric Flair Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I've got a Tag, not sure what model it is. It was bought for my 18th birthday, so had it several years. Problem is, the battery has just gone and it's about £30-40 for a new one. Will get it done at some point, but always find something better to spend that money on, like ale or gambling.
The People's Hero Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Got a couple of nice armani ones and a rolex. Strangely, I don't wear any of them. I tend to just look at my phone for the time now. Battery went on the Armani one I used to wear everyday and now I can't find it.
Tommy G Posted 18 February 2008 Author Posted 18 February 2008 Breitling's are actually very under rated watches. I like most of their styles, they usually have a large face. This is my favourite, it looks complex, and expensive if you didn't know how much it really is. It's about £2,500 but could easily pass for a £10K watch.
Zingari Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 why would anyone want to watch batteries being fitted
