Tommy G Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Not really mate, maybe some black polish. I used to have a black car, and now my new one is silver mainly as scratches won't show up as much.. It's a bastard isn't it
Benji Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 I'm no expert but i think it depends on how deep they are if they aren't that bad you could polish them out

AyewJoking Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 T-CUT Rub a small amount over the scratch with a cloth. Will make the scratch disappear.
Bryn Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 T-CUT Rub a small amount over the scratch with a cloth. Will make the scratch disappear. Truth.
JadeFalcon Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 would help if we knew what the swirl marks were and what caused them... it might just be wax or road surface grime, should be able to buff them out with a chammy as for scratches use t-cut... dont go over the top tho as it is designed to take a very thin layer of paint off, best thing if u want them permanently gone is go to halfords for one of their paint touchup kits hope this helps
danny. Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 careful with t-cut though, it can make scratches worse try some "autoglym paint restorer" first before you t-cut it
blue blood Posted 20 February 2008 Author Posted 20 February 2008 yes it is a bitch, i didnt really want a black car but got it several grand cheaper (auction) but ideal colour would be a shade of silver. The swirl marks are from the previous owners attempts at washing the car. ive just used the autoglym wax and has removed them. the light scratches will be more troublesome. I may try the autoglym body restorer but am not that fussed now as black cars have marks as soon as they ar driven off the forcourt, cheers 4 ur help all. silver it is?!?!
blue blood Posted 20 February 2008 Author Posted 20 February 2008 careful with t-cut though, it can make scratches worsetry some "autoglym paint restorer" first before you t-cut it i think i will. but it may not be worthit for the scratches. the swirls have buffed out with the autoglym high gloss wax
Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 I've got a Porter Cable (& a black car). The PC works a treat. Swirls are usually caused by having a bad washing technique or by using these frigging hand car washes that are everywhere. There are loads of products better than T-Cut. Meguires do a product called Scratch-X. They're all abrasive to some degree, but possibly a lot finer than T-Cut. Just my 10 penneth worth
Maybes Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 T-CUT Rub a small amount over the scratch with a cloth. Will make the scratch disappear. Agreed. What I use. I have owned two black cars and it works a treat.
