isaidno Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 I'm seriously thinking now that they will go down. They have a really tough run in. They still have to play Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton & Portsmouth. I'd love it if they did .
Mort Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 On the face of it a team with the likes of Martins, Emre, Duff, Owen, Given etc... should not be struggling, then again a team with Campbell, Clemence, Oakley, Anwick etc... shouldnt be struggling but here we are. Derby are down and Fulham are looking like their heading that way as well, Newcastle's bad run-in puts them in the mix but the likes of Reading, Brum, Sunderland and Bolton are all still at risk, but i could see all being capable of pulling away from trouble, but with Newcastle I'm not so sure.
lildave3 Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Dearby, Reading, Fulham for me. Would still love Boro to go down but they've picked up lately, sadly. And i've taken a shine to Afonso. I hope they lose 6-5 every week.

Asha Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 I want them to go down, but they won't. Reading, Fulham and Derby.
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Newcastle wont drop... I have got to say i think it is Reading. Because we all know Derby and Fulham are goners!!
Finchy Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Would love the away trip to St James' if they go down, oh yeah and if we stay up
Mikey Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 I want them to go down. I really dislike them. I don't know why, but it's just one of those clubs that I don't like at all.
Thracian Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Would love the away trip to St James' if they go down, oh yeah and if we stay up Whether you'd love the result if Keegan gets the place sorted in the summer is another matter. 1992/1993 Football League Championship Newcastle United 7-1 Leicester City 09-05-1993
frenzal Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 I reckon they'll stay up, although I live in Newcastle and their fans are about as optimistic as ours at the moment. They have Reading, Sunderland and Fulham to play at home yet. If they lose them then they'll be in serious trouble.
lee7 Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 i'd love it if they got relegated but if they kept there squad that they have now then they would thump most teams in this division.
MikeyT Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 I want them to go down. I really dislike them. I don't know why, but it's just one of those clubs that I don't like at all. Yeah i agree with that...i blooming hate Middlesborough as well. They are such a horrible, dreary and boring side!
Head Honcho Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 I'm seriously thinking now that they will go down. They have a really tough run in. They still have to play Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton & Portsmouth. I'd love it if they did . I hate the team! Nothing against the fans but they ain't a big club get over it. I can remember the Leicester fans almost outnumbering the geordies in their own gaff many years ago. If my memory serves me right it was a cold night in March 1985 and we stuffed them 4-1 at home. I remember this fondly because I was part of a regiment full of Geordies stationed at Edinburgh Castle at the time and a bunch of them and myself took a trip to the match-I was the only one smiling on the way home
Jack Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 I'd love for them to go down, then they would realise they're not as good as they think they are.
Jay Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Lost again today!!! haha it's getting tight! next 2 games away to Liverpool and Birmingham can't see them getting results there either!! they have a tough run in as well with the last five games playing Portsmouth, West Ham, Sunderland Chelsea and Everton away last game they have some real 6pointers as well playing Fulham, Reading, Birmingham and Sunderland they could EASILY be dragged in

Hopefully they go down!
Mickey O'Neil Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 I want them to go down. I really dislike them. I don't know why, but it's just one of those clubs that I don't like at all. Agree! I don't think the last place is theirs (Wigan or Reading), but it's going to be a very tough and unhappy run-in for them.
act smiley Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 I'd love for them to go down, then they would realise they're not as good as they think they are. I think they realise they've been crap ever since Sheppard sacked Robson, just the media forgot to notice cause they were too busy wanking over Spurs.
Asha Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Newcastle will stay up, because at the end of the day, there are still 7 teams below them; Wigan, Sunderland, Birmingham, Bolton, Reading, Fulham and Derby. Forgetting Derby for a minute; The run-ins: Newcastle: Liverpool (a), Birmingham (a), Fulham (h), Tottenham (a), Reading (h), Portsmouth (a) Sunderland (h), West Ham (a), Chelsea (h), Everton (a) Wigan: Arsenal (h), Bolton (h), Blackburn (a), Portsmouth (a), Birmingham (h), Chelsea (a), Tottenham (h), Reading (h), Aston Villa (a), Manchester Utd (h) Sunderland: Everton (h), Chelsea (h), Aston Villa (a), West Ham (h), Fulham (a), Man City (h), Newcastle (a), Middlesbrough (h), Bolton (a), Arsenal (h) Birmingham: Newcastle (h), Reading (a), Man City (h), Wigan (a), Everton (h), Aston Villa (a), Liverpool (h), Fulham (a), Blackburn (h) Bolton: Liverpool (Today) (h), Wigan (a), Man City (h), Arsenal (h), Aston Villa (a), West Ham (h), Middlesbrough (a), Tottenham (a), Sunderland (h), Chelsea (a) Reading: Man City (h), Liverpool (a), Birmingham (h), Blackburn (h), Newcastle (a), Fulham (h), Arsenal (a), Wigan (a), Tottenham (h), Derby (a) Fulham: Blackburn (a), Everton (h), Newcastle (a), Derby (a), Sunderland (h), Reading (a), Liverpool (h), Man City (a), Birmingham (h), Portsmouth (a) With the exception of Reading, they all seem to have really tough last games, which could be interesting. Whose run in would be the best though? And of course Bolton have Uefa Cup matches to help/interfere with their battle to stay up.
Foxhateram Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 Newcastle: Liverpool (a), Birmingham (a) ,Fulham (h), Tottenham (a), Reading (h) , Portsmouth (a) Sunderland (h) , West Ham (a), Chelsea (h), Everton (a) If there going to stay up the ones in Black bold, are must win games I think they will draw the games in italics. The rest of the games they are going to get stuffed i.e Chelski and Liverpool. Good luck to them! Keegan is a good bloke he doesn't deserve this crap. God knows why he took on the job, it was obvious they were a sinking ship. Id love to see them drop though, I have mates who suport them that have been taunting me for years.

What about the Fulham game?
lookwhaticando Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 What about the Fulham game? A home win against Fulham should be a Given.
act smiley Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 Look at who the last team to lose to Fulham at home were, though.
Father Ted Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 Wigan definitely have the worst run-in with all apart from one team in the top 10. They will struggle but they have a good manager in Bruce who has recently been scraping some results out for them.
