Tbh i think it's bollocks when players say the crowd don't affect them. If all your own fans hated you, you lose interest. Example = Carl Cort. And we are lucky to have him, it's clear to me Barry Hayles is the type of player who reaches his peak sometime in his mid-50s.

I also got told to "shut the f**k up" by a female steward for singing Jingle Bells on my way out of the ground! Bloody cheek.
