SamL Posted 26 September 2008 Author Posted 26 September 2008 Just got back...Examiner asked me to open the bonnet, but because I was so nervous I was trying to find the latch in the completely wrong place, but then put my head together and got on with it. Seemed like a nice chap, having a bit of a chat, weather a bit misty, but no problem. Driving for a while and Pen is in his lap, still not touched the paper. Asks me to reverse round the corner, yep no problem. Comes up to a big roundabout, yep fine. So all fine and dandy, get back to the test centre, reverse into the parking bay please, ok no problem. Ok, "flick the engine off". So I smile and think "yeahhhhhh easy easy easy" then he looks at me says "im sorry but you have failed", yeah, fai...WHAT?! Your observation was lax on one of the roundabouts, and that is a serious fault. Otherwise a very nice drive. Hero to zero. Seriously could not believe he failed me, and I still have no idea on which roundabout it was! <_< Can't believe it. No test date until the middle of november now. Gonna have to spend at least another £100 on booking fees and refresher lessons. Gutted. Gotta go to bloody work tonight now as well. So all in all, I got 4 minors, and 1 serious. Been planning to pass for so long with Uni starting on monday. That's unlucky mate. Little things like that are so annoying. Bet you must be gutted. Good luck for next time.

Unlucky Chap, i remember mine on the way into the test centre my instructor told me to reverse park into the spaces, and it took me 12 attempts to do it, and the examiners were their. then i had the nicest drive 4 minors, good old chat with "Howard Coleman" from Loughborough, They key to it, is to keep looking at your mirrors every 30 secs or so, and slow down and take decent looks at roundabouts/ junctions. I wonder if anyone has actually wrote off a car in their test? Coleman's the only one i didnt have as theres 4 instructors is'nt there? The woman passed me. And i think it'd be difficult to write off your car in a test, as the testers still have a brake dont they.

Not if you take the test in your own car, or there's just not enough tme to react I came quite close to hitting another car on my test, luckily we both stopped/slowed down in time
The Stig Posted 28 September 2008 Posted 28 September 2008 Good luck blue fox, hope you get it next time.
Nath Posted 29 September 2008 Posted 29 September 2008 I slammed my breaks on when coming upto the lights, and stalled the car... I still passed. No ideaaaa how. It as so nerve wrecking, but the feeling you get when you pass... Goooooooooood

dandannieldanok Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 anyone done there pass pluss? is it worth it ? Not done it and apparently it isn't worth it. I think it only brings down you insurance premiums if you are the main driver on an insurance policy not just a named driver (i.e if you go on your parents insurance), which I have been until recently.
Finchy Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Did my thoery a week back got my test 20th november cant wait ! Ohh day after my second test. Failed my first the other day My instructor crashed his car a couple of days before my test and i had to use a different car and i was sh*t in it and i stalled on the test, well annoyed.

dandannieldanok Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 I always have that dready feeling in my stomach before I go for my driving lessonsAny tips? Just keep remembering it is a means to an end, trust me once you've put the effort in an passed, driving your own car without the shackles of instruction driving becomes more fun.

Granno Posted 13 October 2008 Posted 13 October 2008 I didn't enjoy them when I first started, I love driving more than most things in my life now though, and like yourself, passed at numero uno attempte!!!! Being able to drive for me was life changing, I can go where i want , without having to be a pain and asking for a lift.
Floating Fox Posted 13 October 2008 Posted 13 October 2008 Yes theory tomorrow. Good luck mate. I reckon you'll pass, keep your cool 'n all !
allard7 Posted 14 October 2008 Posted 14 October 2008 I've not got the minerals to book my Theory! Get it done boy its common sense to be honest!
The People's Hero Posted 14 October 2008 Posted 14 October 2008 I got failed a couple of times for fu ck all, then didn't drive for a few months, took the test, drove like a fu cktard and the silly bint passed me.
chrisfox Posted 14 October 2008 Posted 14 October 2008 Good luck to all that have Theory and Practical test coming up in the near future!! I passed about 4 months ago, hated my lessons, nervous wreck before each 1, but totally fine once inside the car. Passed first time with no minors! Have no idea how i did that to be honest! Love driving now, like i've been doing it for years!! 1 tip though, for anyone thinking of starting to learn.... just do it. I waited till the ripe old age of 31 and it's probably one of the biggest regrets of my life. It's much easier to learn when your 17/18.
Joe. Posted 14 October 2008 Posted 14 October 2008 Passed my theory today, 50/50 on theory and 63/75 on hazard perception.
