Driving Lessons.

Got my first driving lesson in over 6 months tonight.

Hope I've not forgotten everything!

Considering I've only just started driving again after passing my test last August, I've done fine after only recently being able to afford a car. You should be fine.

It went really well. Even managed to do the whole reversing round a corner without hitting the kerb thing! Was well impressed

Hitting the kerb thing is cool. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise ;)

Having more trouble parking with my new car. Doesn't seem to turn quite as much as my previous one. I need to do 4-point turns :unsure:

You are a lady so don't worry about it, it's natural for you

Haha. Watch out!

No, it's not! I haven't quite got used to my new car's dimensions either... (back in particular, as the new one is a hatchback).

The worst thing ever was this time when I got home... Parked in the street, then noticed that 4 builders were playing with concrete rather close to my car. So I moved it somewhat, trying to get it safely away from them (didn't really trust them not to ruin my car), couldn't quite decide where was safe enough. So kept moving it, looking around for a better spot, moving a little and so on. They kind of followed this and thought I was having trouble parking so they clapped enthusiastically when I got out of the car. They had no clue what had ACTUALLY been going on though. lol

The other day, I went to my mechanic's garage. Along the way, there was another garage, some guys were standing around a car, some tyres on the ground in the middle of the path, I saw eveyrthing and realised I had enough room to get past them without them moving so did not even slow down (was not actually going fast anyway), but half of them readily cleared the way (i.e. jumped off the road) to let me get through. I could not help laughing my head off :giggle:

lol I always jump out of the way when I notice a female driver on the approach.

I think you just like inter-acting with workmen.

Exactly. It seems to be a kind of instinct. There was no need for them to.

I have pretty good reflexes and my 3D perception is not bad either...

Who, me?!?!?!

When's your test mate?

Wednesday mate.

Got lesson tonight, first thing in the morning tomorrow & Wed morn before my test.

Shitting bricks now if I'm honest. If I drive the way I know I can, then I'll be fine, just can't let nerves fuck it up.

I didn't think about my test i put it to the back of my mind.

but the worrying thing was, when i got to the test centre all the instructors were out waiting for the next set to come in and my instructor told me to reverse bay park into the parking space, and it took me 10 attempts and i was shitting bricks then. My instructor calmed me down, i went off and had the best drive off my life, receiving 4 minors.

Best advice is take something that will calm you down, a song or something and listen to it before the test.

Just think as the tester as an instructor to, and use moments to chat to him.

but best of luck mate
