Tilley Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 Wigston. I went from Welford Road. Thought I'd failed when my 3 point turn, turned into a 4353245 point turn after being made to do it next to a parked car.
Alexikokopops Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 I went from Welford Road.Thought I'd failed when my 3 point turn, turned into a 4353245 point turn after being made to do it next to a parked car. When I was learning my instructor told me it'd changed from a 3-point turn to a "turn in the road", so as long as you don't hit the pavement you're fine, even if turns into a 4353245 point turn. Then again that was five years ago.
Guest Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 "Turn the car to face the opposite direction, using both forward and reverse gears". Or something. My examiner picked an empty road so wide, I did it in two manoeuvres. I was not wearing a short skirt, before any of you jokers comment.

Bluefoxtim Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Fooking ridiculous. Passed my test back in November, but if the insurance companies think I'm going to pay £1,800 then they are seriously mistaken! Went on confused.com, cheapest £1,800 and the most expensive is £3,400 also been on compare the market. I've tried numerous times to get a quote, and tried lots of combinations. What makes it more ridiculous it that the charge of £1,800 is with the poorest car possible from autotrader and with the biggest excess I can have. I paid for all my lessons myself and buying the car/insurance would have to be made my me. That doesn't include the numerous repairs, road tax, petrol etc. Are you lot just sponging off the folks?! EDIT: Just went on a site 'specialising' in student insurance. Filled all the details in then they say that can not offer me a quote due to my unique criteria. I'm a typical sodding student.
Babylon Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Considering I turn 30 in a few months I should really consider starting having lessons again....
Floating Fox Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Tim go on the 'rents policy, much cheaper. Well done Tilley. You can join the convoys now eh?

Have you tried adding your parents to the policy? I added my dad and it knocked the price down. My mate added his dad, mum and sister to his policy and it saved him over £300.
Big Ol' Bob Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 The whole happiness of passing my test is now somewhat subdued after too looking for insurance. £1,900 is about my cheapest, with Endsleigh. Reality has now kicked in.
Tilley Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Well done Tilley. You can join the convoys now eh? Cheers. Too right
