England tour New Zealand

Knew we'd struggle when one of the commentators said I cant see new zealand bowling england out. Why do english commentators always predict so stupidly before the game?

I never notice it other countries, we do seem to shoot ourselves in the foot.

Because? Cricket is a funny old game.

That statement proved to be true. I truly thought New Zealand would bat us out of the game but I've been proved wrong.

What a bowling performance from Sidbo and Broady.

It's a long way back now for Hoggard and Harmison as both Sidebottom and Broad have proved what great players they are. Sidebottom with 23 wickets in the series, thats a great feat considering we've only played 2 & half tests. Remember Shane Warne? He only got 40 in the Ashes and that was 5 tests long.

Its a funny old game.

One thing I noticed for a while now the amount of wickets that are taken bowling into the batsman, I understand mixing it up is a good thing, but so many more wickets are won bowling into a batsman.

Yet again Vaughan failed with the bat I still dont know how he keeps starting surely theres others out there??????

On a batting wicket loads of time he still only makes 6 in 2 innings.

I'm waiting for Strauss to get his century before I go bed, assuming he gets it. He's on 93 at the minute but Bell looks like getting there first! He's on fire.

I've got this horrible feeling that England are going to go out and try to blast the ball around for 10-15 overs first session and Strauss is going to get out before his double hundred.

Hopefully they let him work his way to 200 before he hits out and tell his partners to do the fast-scoring.

We need to declare as soon as possible really. Give him 40 minutes to try and get the 200!

We need to bat until lunch, or as near as possible. Any longer and they might just hit their target.

Yeah I know what you mean, but I'd like to have a lead of 550 on this pitch just to be sure. Giving them 5 1/2 sessions on a docile pitch needs a big target.

Having said that there's something to be said for leaving them something that they could reach and will bat at rather than them aiming for a draw.

Personally if i was Michael Vaughan i would bat for an hour and then give them 30 mins in bat before lunch. If Broady and Sidearse can get the ball moving again we should be in for a treat.

well 418 is the highest ever chase in the history of test cricket. If we bat till lunch, that'll add about an extra 100. No need to set a target of 600, that's just wasting useful bowling time. Smack a quick 50 odd then declare.

Is it normal for the last of the summer wine theme to be played in the crowd? :ermm::unsure:

Edit - And now Coronation Street.

Bizarre.

And now Morecambe and Wise!
