dandannieldanok Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 This has probably been muted somewhere else on the forum but looking at the table this morning it is clear we are in need of some devine intervention. If Cardiff lose their legal battle next week Ridsdale said they may have to go into adminstration, which would drop them to 35 points, leaving us 6 points clear rather than the 2 we are currently. Clutching at straws I know but we desperately need some hope to cling to....................
dandannieldanok Posted 9 March 2008 Author Posted 9 March 2008 Is it likely to happen though? Not sure mate, although neither Ridsdale or Dave Jone appear too confident when fronted by the media.

Tilley Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Risdale has said this situation is worse than his darkest days at Leeds!
FilboFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Hopefully they'll lose it... but I think we'll be safe this year anyway. P.S. Do you really think that anyone is going to save Cardiff when Ridsdale is in charge!?!
Simi Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Risdale is a poor mans Ken Bates he'll get them out of it somehow (illegally).

shen Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 wasn't there a rule stating that if a club went into administration after a certain date, the 10-point penalty would first come into effect from the beginning of the next season?

Didn't Leeds go into it at the end of the season and still get it taken off them at the end. But then again, it is Leeds.
Asha Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 We can't rely on this though, we shouldn't be anywhere near where we are anyway...we shouldn't need the charity of others.
Zingari Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 We can't rely on this though, we shouldn't be anywhere near where we are anyway...we shouldn't need the charity of others. i don't think it would be charity on their part
Asha Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 i don't think it would be charity on their part The Welsh are a weird bunch though. They'd probably exchange 10 points for a(nother) collection of Stereophonics CD(s).
Simi Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 48 Hours away from going out of business apparently. Surely the cup run will save them.
Matt Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Surely the cup run will save them. Just what I thought, Might give them abit more time anyway.
lookwhaticando Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Didn't Leeds go into it at the end of the season and still get it taken off them at the end.But then again, it is Leeds. Leeds lost the ten points last season (thus confirming their relegation) just before the season ended. People thought it was unfair for an essentially relegated club to take the ten point hit early (the current season) so they could start the next season level with everyone else. That's supposedly the reason Leeds went under when they did - all the stories about them wanting to admit defeat, take the 10 points now and plan for next season... So the League changed the rules. There's now supposed to be a cut-off point, indeed, to stop people taking the 10 point hit at an advantageous time.
lcfc_jme Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Fuck that. I'm not a huge fan of Ridsdale in any sense of the word, and I'm not exactly Cardiff's biggest fan either, but I wouldn't wish administration on any club, whether that meant saving our own bacon or not. Well, not unless that club was Leeds. If we're really that shit that we need another club to pretty much go out of business in order to keep us in this league, maybe we deserve to go down.
Nationwider Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Is there any club that hasn't gone tits-up when Ridsdale's been involved? I wonder if he ever sniffed around us?
DB11 Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Now I want Boro to win even more but that's not going to happen
Father Ted Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Now I want Boro to win even more but that's not going to happen
filbertboy Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 How sad that we should be relying on the downfall of another club to save our necks.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 March 2008 Author Posted 9 March 2008 How sad that we should be relying on the downfall of another club to save our necks. Very true, it is a sad indictment of the mismanagement at this club and if we were saved like this it would hopefully teach Mandaric, Holloway, and the players a stern lesson. Frankly Mandaric, the managers, and the players should be very embarassed at the events of the season.

I share your sentiments, but some will argue that mismanagement of the club's finances ought not to go unpunished, and that argument does have some logic to it. Still doesn't feel right though.
