FilboFox Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Err like last season Yeah... but last year we were in a slightly better position than this time round...
The People's Hero Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Basically you come down to two things. 1) Eggs do not taste good. 2) Cuddly toys are for girls. Holloway must stay/go depending on whether you agree/disagree with the above. Personally, I'm non-plussed.
davieG Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Yeah... but last year we were in a slightly better position than this time round... But we didn't end the season without a manager!

Daggers Posted 10 March 2008 Author Posted 10 March 2008 Well - we've tried entertaining ones, boring ones and shit ones; I vote that if he does get rid then we try a good one for a change.
FilboFox Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 But we didn't end the season without a manager! So what were you getting at in your last post... you've lost me... Unless you were just pointing out that what I said was like last year.... and didn't mean anything else by it. It just seemed like you did.

It just seemed like you did. You said that we would end the season managerless with the team crushed. davieG is pointing out that last season it was the very thing that saved us.

FilboFox Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 You said that we would end the season managerless with the team crushed.davieG is pointing out that last season it was the very thing that saved us. Ah... I see... although I was saying that IF we ended the season managerless, we would fail to stay up...
davieG Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Ah... I see... although I was saying that IF we ended the season managerless, we would fail to stay up... I see no IF in there! I don't think we should send him packing... I like the man and think he's doing a decent job.BUT, Milan is very temperamental and I think if we haven't got any wins after the S****horpe game, I think he may think its time for him to go... although it would be the WORST decision as it would mean we would have to end the season without a manager and I think we would be relegated due to the morale being dashed in the camp...
Daggers Posted 10 March 2008 Author Posted 10 March 2008 Ah... I see... although I was saying that IF we ended the season managerless, we would fail to stay up... I don't think he would get shot without someone ready to walk straight in...and having Dowie waiting for the phone to ring is just going to keep fuelling speculation while we are failing to score/win.
Bernie's Love Child Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 I don't think he would get shot without someone ready to walk straight in...and having Dowie waiting for the phone to ring is just going to keep fuelling speculation while we are failing to score/win. Thats spot on. If he does it, he'll do like he did to Kelly last year. Sack him and bring someone straight in to take over. We can't afford another month-long manager search again.
Babylon Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Babs you've never wanted to sack a manager until there really wasn't a case for keeping him left. Overall the playing strength is greater since Holloway's arrival but he's still made some questionable signings, still not cured glaring problems and, worst of all, seems to lack the tactical imagination to make a difference once the game starts both with his general tinkering and his substitutions. Does that honestly not worry you or do you think it will all be different tomorrow or the next day? For me Holloway's unyielding faith in experience has backfired big time so far and that's a problem because experienced players don't generally perform badly enough to get dropped. They just can't perform well enough to win matches often enough when the pressure's on and a bit extra is needed. Too often they simply don't have the extra to give. Saturday was a glaring example. It was our central midfield that was running out of gas. But did he respond to that by using Andy King? Not at all. He weakened our attack and failed to strength central midfield. Oh course it bloody worries me, my post said nothing about my thoughts of him and how obviously shit he is doing. All I said is that sacking him probably won't get the change in fortunes people expect, due to the number of manager changes already. If you are saying sack him you are a hypocrite... shall I pull out your posts saying he should stay even if we get relegated?
The People's Hero Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Life is like an apple. Sometimes there are maggots. Sometimes it's all bruised. Sometimes you realise you're eating a cooking apple. And sometimes you realise just too late that you've eaten the sticker. Personally, I'm switching to pomegranates.

I'd stick with a good hard banananananananananananananaananananananana.
Babylon Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Err like last season We would have stayed up whether the change was made or not and last season, we also hadn't already had 3 managers that year.
davieG Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 We would have stayed up whether the change was made or not and last season, we also hadn't already had 3 managers that year. I was refering to his comment re having no manager.
The People's Hero Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 I can't help but think that none of those would be an issue is Hairy Hat Man was our mascot/manager.
Thracian Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Oh course it bloody worries me, my post said nothing about my thoughts of him and how obviously shit he is doing. More than once.
Babylon Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 I'm past the point of caring, it's MM's choice I really don't give a feck... if he thinks spending £2m to get rid of him is worth is then he'll do it. Considering we are already well over any budget we may of had this year, that's a heck of a lot of money.

You could buy a lot of fruit for that. Lineker will be turning in his grave.
The People's Hero Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Bananas are just apples in disguise (and funky wrapping).
Raj Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 She does Why doesn't it play??? I was expecting some sort of seedy sexy behaviour with that bananannanananananan.
