Monk Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 For the first time I wouldn't be surprised to see Milan pull the trigger. We'll see. Not sure what difference it will make though. I think that would be the final straw for the squad members who have been here a while/

Bernie's Love Child Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Davies won't taint his hands - he'll stay for one of the first Premiership teams to get shot Then that leaves Dowie....... Great!!
Daggers Posted 11 March 2008 Author Posted 11 March 2008 Then that leaves Dowie....... Great!! Yup. Ginger F-Fer-gu-son Ginger F-Fer-gu-son Ginger F-Fer-gu-son Ginger F-Fer-gu-son
lookwhaticando Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 He'll be gone after Scunny, to be replaced by Nigel Worthington (supersub manager). Again.
renards Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Any twat on this forum that thinks getting rid of Ollie will keep us in the Championship is a total idiot.I wish that the majority of moaning Leicester fans would shut the fook up and appreciate what Ollie has done so far and what he is building towards. Who are you going to replace him with? Another Megson? Far too much negativity on this forum, 90% of you lot will never be happy, ever! This is my final post on this forum, instead i'm heading down to the game to support the club not bitch about them on the internet. Feeling a bit stupid?
Ric Flair Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 I expect to hear the words 'drive and enthusiasm' coming from Mandaric about our new potential manager within the next 48 hours.

Mort Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 How long did Nigie have in charge... was it five or six games?
davieG Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 How long did Nigie have in charge... was it five or six games? 5 LLWWL
lookwhaticando Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 5 LLWWL 40% win rate... not bad. Worthington IN.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Rob Kelly must be extremely hacked off atm. He was sacked with 5 games to go and we were 5 points ABOVE the drop zone. Yet Holloway, who has spent £2m on transfers and been able to bring in players, is sitting comfortably in the hotseat with us firmly ensconced in the drop zone and practically every team around us in good form with games in hand.
Mort Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Worthington IN. Frankly i was never sure why we got rid of him...
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Frankly i was never sure why we got rid of him... Because he was not a YES / BUMMER man.
Mort Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Because he was not a YES / BUMMER man. ...awe, but he was a half way credible manager with a decent record in this division, if it only we'd beat Wolves.
Chrysalis Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Can you honestly say that sacking the manager will prevent a slide into Div 1? Surely that's the major part of why we're in this mess in th first place. B*llocks to sacking the manager, I see improvement in the team. Ollie stays, whatever. more often than not a change of manager provides some sort of boost, there is exceptions eg. keegan but usually has short term benefits.

I'd love to see stats that support that belief. It's a commonly held perception, I'm just not convinced it's true...but I'm too lazy to dig up some facts to disprove it

It's a lottery nothing more nothing less. My view is that if he's lost confidence in Holloway and plans to get rid in the summer and has someone like dowie or Davies in mind as a replacement then it might be worth tossing the coin of luck and going for it.

Chrysalis Posted 13 March 2008 Posted 13 March 2008 I would say it helps mainly for following 2 reasons. 1 - new manager tries something new gives everyone fresh hope as they got sick of old tactics not working. 2 - players have to re earn respect of new manager whilst 1st team regulars under established managers get too comfy. Once managers get into losing runs its very hard to get out of them, in holloways case he still looks like he has the dressing room but I cant see where the next win is coming from thats my main concern. In addition even if he performs a miracle and we stay up (it would be a miracle) I think MM will get rid in the summer now regardless. So in my view its simply sacking him earlier.

Agreed - but the obverse applies in equal measure. I seriously believe that our players aren't up to it, under any manager. Just look at the matches we have won this season and ask yourself how many were down to us playing well and how many were mainly due to the opposition not turning up to play. I doubt the combined talents of the world's finest could raise the City corpse from the almost dead.

Kelly's doing alright for himself now at Preston. But he must be wondering how Holloway has survived so far, when his record of points per game is far worse than Kelly's was.
lookwhaticando Posted 14 March 2008 Posted 14 March 2008 Kelly's doing alright for himself now at Preston. As an assistant manager/coach. Slightly different kettle of fish, you'll notice. But still...
