Can you honestly say that sacking the manager will prevent a slide into Div 1? Surely that's the major part of why we're in this mess in th first place. B*llocks to sacking the manager, I see improvement in the team. Ollie stays, whatever.

You sack them at this stage in the hope that you get the "new manager reaction".... we have had so many new managers that I just don't think we will get it from the players. In fact you will probably get a negative reaction.

Yup, spot-on. It's the "new manager reaction" that does it. Look at Kelly - it certainly wasn't any great managerial prowess. Just as you say Babs, so many changes this season I believe that yet another one can only have a negative effect, especially when in all honesty we haven't been playing so bad.

And anyone who "expects" a point away at the Hawthorns is living in la-la land anyway!

If we slide into the relegation zone tomorrow, MM will swing his axe. He's spent far to much money to watch us disappear into League One and this will be his last roll of the dice. He'll hope for a new manager reaction from the players and pray that its enough to keep us up.

Personally, I think it would be a mistake, but what can he do? He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Given continued poor results the West Brom game could well be his last because the impetus of a new manager would perhaps be most effective given the fixtures to come thereafter whereas a new manager starting at West Brom might have a dampening effect if the game were lost.

I've not given up on City beating Southampton with the way the Saints are playing at the moment but it's not been a happy trip for us of late and it wouldn't surprise me if defeat there spelt an even earlier end for Holloway.

Whatever he now has a massive fight on to save his job.

Oi - get back to your mailsacks!:P

I didn't say he should - I said I think he will.

At some point very soon he is going to look at the very same stats we look at and say to himself..."Will I lose more money by sacking Holloway or through relegation?" Mandaric, being a control freak, only has one option that he has any control over.

Plus, with Davies and his mate Dowie being out of a job, there's the question as to whether they may come in to provide a short-term fix.

Just questions worthy of discussion, TLB

I reckon if we lose tomorrow and on Saturday then Ollie will be gardening.

You have to wonder that if the best we really could aim for next Saturday is a point, then a loss tomorrow would surely be enough (if that is Mandaric's intention)? :dunno:

Point taken and to be honest, I'm a little worried about what MM will do myself

PS - taking a break between rounds cos some stupid sod still hasn't got his round sorted yet! :@:frusty: and I won't even get paid any extra for having to wait for him... the post today, I tell you! Well at least my customers are happy

If there's a silence from Milan after a defeat tomorrow then I expect the axe swinging.

I honestly dont think MM will axe Ollie this season.

After all the other managerial coming and goings, surely even he realises that ANOTHER change just will not work with so little games left.

I suppose there is the'new manager syndrome' working for us like it did with Wortho last year.

But i think MM will feel like he has failed again with his managerial hirings and he'll lose face with the fans(Although i dont think he gives a fcuk abouth what the fans think!)

Im confused! :dunno:

Well let's hope the players have a different mindset bearing in mind WBA's players might be a little distracted and they have already lost at home to Cov and drawn with Sheff Weds, Sheff Utd.

I guess it might depend on how happy he is for Ollie to take us into next season, if he has doubts about that he might decide that he'll go for someone like dowie sooner rather than later.

Babs you've never wanted to sack a manager until there really wasn't a case for keeping him left.

Overall the playing strength is greater since Holloway's arrival but he's still made some questionable signings, still not cured glaring problems and, worst of all, seems to lack the tactical imagination to make a difference once the game starts both with his general tinkering and his substitutions.

Does that honestly not worry you or do you think it will all be different tomorrow or the next day?

For me Holloway's unyielding faith in experience has backfired big time so far and that's a problem because experienced players don't generally perform badly enough to get dropped.

They just can't perform well enough to win matches often enough when the pressure's on and a bit extra is needed.

Too often they simply don't have the extra to give.

Saturday was a glaring example.

It was our central midfield that was running out of gas. But did he respond to that by using Andy King? Not at all. He weakened our attack and failed to strength central midfield.

Finding myself in absolute agreement with the above - I will tip my cap one final time to everyone that prevented Warnock from coming here...sarcastically.

And a sarcy tip of the cap is not to be glibly passed over.

Warnock would have had this squad playing and scoring. Unsubstanciated and maybe groundless FACT!

Still, we are where we are...

Again.

I don't think we should send him packing... I like the man and think he's doing a decent job.

BUT, Milan is very temperamental and I think if we haven't got any wins after the S****horpe game, I think he may think its time for him to go... although it would be the WORST decision as it would mean we would have to end the season without a manager and I think we would be relegated due to the morale being dashed in the camp...
