Ozwin Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 They're so going to get relegated. What are the odds on them going down now? Surely it'd be worth a fiver considering they are such a big team and still quite unlikely for them to go down. I mean they're a pretty big club considering. Anyway. I can't exactly laugh due to the perdiciment Leicester find themselves in, but I will laugh because I've never liked Newcastle. They remind me of Leeds too much. Ha!
lildave3 Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Michael Owen. First goal of their late winning streak
Daggers Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Best fans in the world, God bless'em. All seventeen silent fans travelling all that way on a Monday, where would the game be without them?
The Stig Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 They would not have been in this position under Sam Allardyce. Kevin Keegan has had his day.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 I hate Newcastle, what winds me up is that they think they should have success. They are a shit team, with a decent ground. I for one cant wait to go there next season.
potter3 Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 That was almost as bad as Leicester for the 30 mins I watched
Mikey Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 I hate Newcastle, what winds me up is that they think they should have success. They are a shit team, with a decent ground. I for one cant wait to go there next season. I agree with all of that. They think they are so good because they have a big ground and lots of money to spend. They are shit, I really do hope they do go down. Tonights game was one of the worst footballing games I've seen for a long time in the Premiership.
Joe. Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 I'd love to see Newcastle go down. Not because I don't like them, I just think it would be an immense away day and it'd be nice to have a team of Newcastle's pedigree in the Championship. So please Kev, do the right thing and continue the demise.
the_bowman Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 I'd rather Keegan got sacked and Dennis Wise took them down
C-man Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Last night, Michael Owen saved them. Lost to Brum and they were heading to the Championship. That draw should be the springboard for them to stay up. I think Brum may struggle now.
act smiley Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 They would not have been in this position under Sam Allardyce. Kevin Keegan has had his day. They were playing worse than this under Allardyce, he'd been lucky with a few results around November and the luck had run out - with Keegan they've had a couple of games where they could have got a bit more, they were unlucky against Middlesbrough and Blackburn for example, but I don't think Allardyce would have got much more - he tried to bunker in away at Derby and got them absolutely battered there and then very nearly lost to them at home.
Fat Ron Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 I hate Newcastle, what winds me up is that they think they should have success. They are a shit team, with a decent ground. Sounds similar to us..... They think they are so good because they have a big ground and lots of money to spend. They are shit, I really do hope they do go down. Tonights game was one of the worst footballing games I've seen for a long time in the Premiership. Probably what a lot of other fans think of us... Oh my. . . .We have become the Newcastle of the Championship
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 They were playing worse than this under Allardyce, he'd been lucky with a few results around November and the luck had run out - with Keegan they've had a couple of games where they could have got a bit more, they were unlucky against Middlesbrough and Blackburn for example, but I don't think Allardyce would have got much more - he tried to bunker in away at Derby and got them absolutely battered there and then very nearly lost to them at home. I Disagree, they weren't playing that badly under Big Sam and he was at least getting the odd result and they were comfortable mid table, I don't believe they should of sacked him. However, if they did really have to sack him, they should of at least replaced him with a manager who has not taken over 12 months off from football and self admittiedly not watched a game of football since retireing. Keegans ideas and tactics were cleary ten years out of date at the top level when he left Manchester City, he's bought back as some sort of romantic geordie fairy tale that was never going to have a happy ending for all those thinking with heads instead of hearts. And what do they do now? If Alladyce had had the run "King Kev" has had he'd probabley be found hanging off the Angel of the Norths Left wing. Keegans legendery status at Newcaslte along with the fact that he's never been sacked (imagine Newcaslte being the first ever club to sack Kevin Keegan) will alwaysput him in a strong position with the fans. Expect crys of "give him time, he needs to get rid of Sams crap etc etc" They're in deep shit.
act smiley Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 He made a decent start but they'd been on a big slide. I've been dragged down the pub to watch them on regular occasions due to a Newcastle supporting friend and frankly Big Sam got it all wrong and didn't make any effort to change what he was doing - if you go behind twice to Derby at home and scrape a draw 5 minutes from time after having spent over £25m in the summer, rely on a 90th minute penalty against Fulham, lose at Wigan, 90th minute winner against Birmingham. OK, they'd had a good start but their starting fixtures were the easier ones, Bolton, Villa, Wigan, Boro, Derby were their first five and things had started slipping at the start of December. It was probably too early to get the axe out but its not like he'd been sacked for no reason, they'd dropped a lot of points against the smaller sides and Derby should have done the double on them, which is pretty embarassing. Bringing in Keegan is probably the wrong decision to have made, but they don't really have much option but to stick by him now. He's been a bit unlucky in that against Boro they had a good goal disallowed, but really he's only really dropped a small number of points - they've missed out on 9pts against teams that aren't in the top 4 under Keegan, where you'd think they could have got a few more, that's not quite as extreme as people seem to want to make out.
Thracian Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 I'd love to see Newcastle go down. Not because I don't like them, I just think it would be an immense away day and it'd be nice to have a team of Newcastle's pedigree in the Championship. If Newcastle go down which is always possible with that side, then, given chance, Keegan will perform the resurrection, of that I have no doubt. Sam Allardyce was never going to be the manager for Newcastle. Their daftest decision was getting rid of Sir Bobby Robson. to their eternal shame.
Benji Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 Did anyone listen to 5live when they were looking for a new manager? Harry Redknapp said no to them and then 50 newcastle fans rang in saying we don't want him anyway, he's achieved nothing That made me laugh, laugh a lot indeed. They don't deserve Jamie redknapp as their manager let alone Harry

He'll just jack it in before long like he always does when things aren't going his way. How you can say that I really don't know there is a squad with real talent there, Sam left them in 12th since then what 12 games? No wins, disgraceful record.

That's looking at it from the most positive view... now open your eyes and look at reality
