Matt Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Very much so.First of all we've got a massive game against Colchester on Saturday. Basically it's a must win, and one that we really should be winning. Although to be honest, I think we could get away with a defeat against you lot if we managed to beat Colchester and Barnsley. But again I ask the question who are we to be saying "one that we really should be winning"?! What gives us the right to expect, and be disrespecting teams such as Colchester? Look where we are, the table doesn't lie. Colchester may not be in the best form which is why you say "one that we really should be winning" but again look at our form, why are we where we are in the table? Because of our form.
FleckneyFox Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Relegation is written all over the wall we need 7 points now which we probably wont do. BUT on the plus side 500 POSTS im sure this special moment will brighten all your lives!
Joe. Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 It may seem a terrible situation we're in, and it is I know, but looking at the remaining fixtures of the other teams around us I'd say we've still got a very good chance of staying in this division. Barnsley and Southampton have got considerably tough fixtures remaining. Although saying that, this league is so unpredictable it's still too hard to say. Don't lose hope yet!
Milky Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Colchester are officially relegated of course after that result. Does it change anything? fook knows.
tartanowl Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Colchester are a very poor side I'm expecting you to win. They were absolutely awful when we played them at Layer Road recently. Although the pressure is off them now and sometimes teams play better when the pressure is off. Barnsley, Blackpool and Southampton are all away from home this Saturday. I can't see them all winning. I hope not anyway!

Blackpool's aren't easy either. Although, come on Pearson, take the Saints down.
davieG Posted 9 April 2008 Author Posted 9 April 2008 Don't panic Ollie's got it all in hand We just need a couple of wins, we don't even need that on Saturday a draw will do, then we can look forward to the summer! He said: "Our position is nothing a couple of wins won't put right. It might be the two home games, but the one thing you can't do is sit down and work out what's going to happen. It doesn't make sense. "It is all so cramped - 47 points would have been safe last year but it won't be this time, and Colchester can get past us only if they win all four games. "So we can drive that nail in their coffin even with a draw. "A draw or a win is what we are after, but what we have done so far is get to those teams and tripped up. We did it here against Preston and at Southampton. "We have to clear only a couple of hurdles then look forward to what we are going to do in the summer."

Yes like Barnsley will never get anything away at Watford

davieG Posted 9 April 2008 Author Posted 9 April 2008 Were you expecting him to say that we're ****ed and to give up now? I expect him not to treat me like an idiot! Why does he even need to go into so much detail, I can see he's trying to take the pressure off but it doesn't work if it's so obviously a load of bollocks. No one in their right minds would think we just need a couple of wins, even if it was remotely true two wins out of four for us is of miraculous proportions.

Even though we've won 2 out of 4 currently?! And why shouldn't it be true?

davieG Posted 9 April 2008 Author Posted 9 April 2008 Even though we've won 2 out of 4 currently?!And why shouldn't it be true? Yes but as you well know this things become more difficult to achieve, besides that's not my point he's publically under estimating the problem and making light of it, frankly if he can't see it's gone beyond that, and you only need to see tonight's posts to see how panic stricken people are, they're not stupid and don't need patronising. If he'd have used a few home truths to the fans and the players earlier we might have avoided this fiasco. Have we not won two out our last four games? Yes and how many times have we repeated that sort of sequence One was against a team worse than us and the other had 10/9 men.

I think he's panicking as well, but I just don't think he'll show it in public. What sorta message would that send out to the rest of the teams around us if our gaffer is shitting himself in public. He's trying to stay optimistic, and as a manager, he has to. He knows and we know what's needed to get out of this mess.

Sure talk things up but why mention we only need a couple of wins when people know that's not true.
Scow Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Typical. Just when you think Barnsley couldn't have a much tougher away game, Watford decide to become shit. To top it all off, Odejayi scores twice! Typical. If we don't beat Colchester then I can't see us staying up.

Before their win against Coventry on Saturday they hadn't won for eight games. When they beat... us, of course.
leicester4ever Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 IF-WE-CANNOT-BEAT-A-RELAGATED-COLCHESTER-UNITED-WE-DESERVE-TO-GO-DOWN..... Barnsley tonight beat a top side Watford, and IMO if we loose on sat then hands down, Barnsley should stay up and we DESERVE to go down. Im LCFC through and through but we just need to be honest with ourselves AS-SIMPLE-AS-THAT
Scow Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Watford have been shit for weeks. Before their win against Coventry on Saturday they hadn't won for eight games. When they beat... us, of course. I think they drew 7 in a row (before losing to Hull) - that was the least I was expecting. Especially against a side with just one league away win.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I think they drew 7 in a row (before losing to Hull) - that was the least I was expecting. Especially against a side with just one league away win. It's just the nature of this division. There are no easy or hard run-ins. Just a whole load of teams who don't roll over as often as we do. At least this might spark an atmosphere on Saturday.

Koke Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 The fact that Watford have picked up 10 points in their last 9 games and could have gone top tonight just shows how shit beyond belief this division is. God, this league is so horrendous. And we are in the bottom 3.

At least this might spark an atmosphere on Saturday. I shouldn't be surprised really, I think it stems from frustration at seeing us in the bottom three again. It serves to highlight how shit this league is, and for us to be down there after the money we spent in January is farcical.
