hairy Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Colchester are officially down after the result last night so lets hope their spirits are down too on Saturday
Sods Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Colchester are officially down after the result last night so lets hope their spirits are down too on Saturday Unfortunately most teams play better when they have been relegated, the pressure is off them. I just hope were up for it.
crisp monster Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 tbh i think our time has come and after so much upheaval, we are going down. but strange things happen in this league(as last night proved) and if we win on Saturday, the pressure is back on the others. cov home to stoke will be very tough, soton will find it hard at charlton, blackpool at cardiff and sheff wed don't play until Monday and could find themselves 2 points behind us before kick off with a trip to blackpool the following Saturday. its all about sorting yourselves out and waiting for some other team to balls up so far nobody really has soton v bristol us v scunny cov v plymouth have all been won by the team in desperate need of the win. someone Will fail - lets hope its not us just get the 3 on Saturday boys and let the others start to panic
Koke Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 If Wednesday keep drawing, then I'll be a happy man. And if things go to plan against Colchester, then we could see Wednesday in the drop zone prior to their game against the farmers on Monday night. They may crack under the pressure, I ****ing hope so - And it's also about time the farmer boys did us a favour.

As a loyal "Farmer Boy" i hope we can do you guys a favour by beating Wednesday but i dont think that will solve your problems whilst IH is still incharge at your place.I don't know why its all gone wrong for him after he did so well at Home Park on such a tight budget.I truely wish you well in your fight against religation but please dont put too much faith in your managers words as he has a track record of being able to bullsh1t with the best of them.
Koke Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 He might be a liar, but he's a decent manager in this division. And that's all we care about at the moment. There are only very few honest people in the football world anyway.
Free Falling Foxes Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 I found myself fantasising earlier - not about some beautiful woman but Birmingham being relegated two divisions and saving our bacon. Gosh, I'm clutching at straws
Aixelsyd Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Birmingham being relegated two divisions and saving our bacon. boy I wish that was true

Father Ted Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Watford have been shit for weeks. Before their win against Coventry on Saturday they hadn't won for eight games. When they beat... us, of course. I was speaking to a Watford fan and he even said that he wouldn't be surprised, well he'd laugh at the players because there form is so bad, even though they are safely in the play-off's with 7 points it looks as though they might drop out of the play-offs. The players are all arguing, Jordan Stewart being one of the worst.

We his points record at City being worse than that of Kelly or Levein and that with lots more money to buy/loan supposedly better players, he doesn't look too hot to me. All managers make mistakes but his would be a long, long list in a mere four months.

That is a worry, although the football has generally improved relative to the previous mangements, results haven't. We don't really look like stringin a run of results together but i'm hoping Holloway can prove us all wrong!!!

All managers make mistakes but his would be a long, long list in a mere four months. His record isn't very good I admit. But the football is better now compared to the Levein & Kelly era. We've recruited better playing staff, and Holloway does know a good football when he sees one. If we go down, would you class Holloway as the worst City manager ever? After all, we've never been below this division. And on that note, the players would then be the worst City players in our history. Sometimes it's not all about records and stats...

I'd have to disagree there as well. I'm yet to see any kind of substance from our football under Holloway yet. Take away the token good performances against Coventry, Norwich and West Brom and we've been pretty much garbage for 75% of the other matches we've played. There's no solid platform to our game that we stick to, it's just hit and hope. If we score first then teams usually have to press forward leaving more room to pick the ball up after we've hoofed it, their defence have cleared but instead of their midfield sitting deep they are further up field meaning we get to the second balls more often and that's when we get our success. Not sound football if you ask me, which if you look at our results show that it's not a consistent enough system. When we go a goal behind it tells as we have no come back, no retaliation other than to hoof it long, which the oppositions defence will mop up all day long when protecting a lead.
The People's Hero Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Mark Robins has left me. He said he can no longer bear living in my second bedroom. He also thinks City are going down. Apparently, he's off to support Darlo. Might go with him. Whoa Whoa Whoa... One thing is for sure. Yes - we are fu cking sh it pot. BUT... Levein and Kelly? Fu ck off. What a pair of sh itt ers. Fu ck you!

I thought under Levein we played some great football, but it wasn't what we always needed. I think its about producing good football as well as in some games having the ability to ground out results which hasn't happened since we have had Adams. Holloway has started to do it, i.e. Crystal Palace but it hasn't happened enough. It won't happen overnight however and definately won't happen until we start winning back to back games. Im all behind Holloway and will be until at least Christmas.
Linekars Love Child Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 i think we will get beaten tommorow and holloway will get sacked on monday mornin with dowie or billy davies replacing him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thracian Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 i think we will get beaten tommorow and holloway will get sacked on monday mornin with dowie or billy davies replacing him!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually wonder if that's our greatest chance of winning. Just when you think Holloway might get the boot he gets a result. Pity he doesn't pretend he's on the brink every match.

Pity he doesn't pretend he's on the brink every match. I've often thought that to be the case, look at the times when we've got a result when the pressure was really on. Coventry at home, Norwich at home, West Brom away. All 3 came at times when the fans were very, very irate with Holloway and the team.
Scow Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 I thought under Levein we played some great football I remember the time we were away at Burnley - we played a midfield of: (right to left) Sylla - Gudjonsson - Kisnorbo - Hughes And then a forward line of: Dublin - de Vries --- Yeah, wonderful football.

We'll be looking back at those days as the glory years when we're travelling to Yeovil next season.
