Scow Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Sheff Weds and Sheff Utd was a decent result, considering we still have to play Weds. Blackpool losing means they're right back in it. I thought Blackpool were in it anyway. They've got a tough fixture list - the key game for them is at home to Sheffield Wednesday. I know they're four points above the drop zone, but because it's so tight down there a round of games can make a huge difference. We could be level with them on Saturday and possibly with a better goal difference.
Jordan Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I don't just consider Leicester to be deep in the fight for safety--I consider them to be in the drop zone NOW as Barnsley average just over one point per game and have two games in hand.
C-man Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 If we win and results go our way on Saturday we could be up to 17th, our spiritual home
davieG Posted 9 April 2008 Author Posted 9 April 2008 Tonight Watford - Barnsley A big incentive for both teams tonight Watford would go top if they win, Barnsley would dump us in the third relegation spot and move above Sheff Weds & Southampton and possibly Cov and still have games in hand over us Weds, Southampton and Cov.

Come on Watford.
Ric Flair Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Even if we win on Saturday, I actually think we will still be relegated. I don't see where we'll get 7 points from, which IMO are needed to stay up.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Even if we win on Saturday, I actually think we will still be relegated. I don't see where we'll get 7 points from, which IMO are needed to stay up. NNAAHHHHH BOOSSSS. We need 4, 5 max I'd say.
Ric Flair Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 NNAAHHHHH BOOSSSS.We need 4, 5 max I'd say. Really? Look at how many points the top few teams are on. Piss poor and it's because everyone is taking points off everyone, meaning teams will get promoted automatically off about 78-80 points and teams will be relegated on about 51-53 points IMO.
Thracian Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 It's like we're lying there, desperately ill, and some miserable bastard is standing by the bed holding a sheet ready to pull it over your head.
Ric Flair Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 It's like we're lying there, desperately ill, and some miserable bastard is standing by the bed holding a sheet ready to pull it over your head. With a great big skid mark near the mouth piece.
Bryn Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 It's starting to look seriously bleak now for us. We've got to start turning defeats and draws into wins.

Piss poor and it's because everyone is taking points off everyone, meaning teams will get promoted automatically off about 78-80 points and teams will be relegated on about 51-53 points IMO. Really, I don't think Cov Saints Wednesday Blackpool and Barnsley are all going to get to 52 points, not for a second. Remember the goal difference! They all need more points than us.
Sods Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Barnsley's run in is horrible. Dont look anywhere else. They still have Hull, Preston and Cardiff away. Barnsley haven't won away since September in the league. The game against us and Barnsley is huge. They play 3 games in between then so it is majourly important we beat Colchester.
maddog Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 If we win on saturday, there is a good chance we could move up four places as cov, blackpool, southampton all have tough games and sheff wed don't play until monday. Those teams will then need to gain points to go back above us which is difficult at this stage of the season. There is always one team that will lose their last few games and go down. Hopefully it won't be us!
Father Ted Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 NNAAHHHHH BOOSSSS.We need 4, 5 max I'd say. I reckon 4,5 max aswell. But I think we will struggle getting it.

Am I being cynical but will Preston have the slightest motivation to beat Barnsley? In fact I wonder how Rob Kelly will be viewing the prospect of City being dumped into Division One after his sacking.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Am I being cynical but will Preston have the slightest motivation to beat Barnsley? Only to pick up there win bonuses.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Howard is out for barnsley tonight. Big miss for them.

Preston are the form team in the league right now, along with Hull. I'd imagine they want to finish the season with as many points as possible.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Preston are the form team in the league right now, along with Hull. I'd imagine they want to finish the season with as many points as possible. Quite. I somewhat doubt Rob Kelly has that much of a say in matters anyway.
Thracian Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Quite.I somewhat doubt Rob Kelly has that much of a say in matters anyway. I shall look forward to the result with interest.
Ric Flair Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I shall look forward to the result with interest. Oh god, please win Preston.
Joe. Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I don't think we'll need 7 points to be honest Ric. I'd say two wins out of Colchester, Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday would be enough for us. Or possibly about 5 points from the remaining lot.
