Just let if fuking happen, put us out our misery. I really don't fear it now, I'll be sad if we go down, I don't want us to go down, but we deserve to go down and i'm abit bored of seeing and discussing it. Just let if fuking happen, one way or another. Then watch all our players jump ship (With my blessing). Be funny to see some of the poor club and fans giving them support.
harpendenfox Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I for one just want this ghastly season over. Even if we go down. I feel as if the noose has been tightening around us for four years. Perhaps it'd better if we did our time and come back as a serious football club playing decent football in a year or two

I empathise completely with your feelings. We're like a sick dog and need to be put down in order to end the suffering
Matt Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I for one just want this ghastly season over. Even if we go down. I feel as if the noose has been tightening around us for four years. Perhaps it'd better if we did our time and come back as a serious football club playing decent football in a year or two Deja Vu? Didn't we say that when we got relegated from the Premiership (The first time), didn't Forest and Leeds say that (Their not doing bad in League 1 but still not getting the promotion they said they would...maybe not so much in Leeds case)
harpendenfox Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Indeed, maybe we would fester in league one for a while. But if we tried to play decent football, had a reasonably stable squad with say 6/7 youngsters and 4/5 older hands, and perhaps even scored a few goals with attacking play, maybe we'd enjoy it more than the anxiety ridden rubbish we've endured these last few years

davieG Posted 9 April 2008 Author Posted 9 April 2008 Well there's taking the pressure off and then there's Holloway. He said: "Our position is nothing a couple of wins won't put right. It might be the two home games, but the one thing you can't do is sit down and work out what's going to happen. It doesn't make sense. "It is all so cramped - 47 points would have been safe last year but it won't be this time, and Colchester can get past us only if they win all four games. "So we can drive that nail in their coffin even with a draw. "A draw or a win is what we are after, but what we have done so far is get to those teams and tripped up. We did it here against Preston and at Southampton. "We have to clear only a couple of hurdles then look forward to what we are going to do in the summer." Oh for it to be assimple as that!
FleckneyFox Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Well there's taking the pressure off and then there's Holloway.Oh for it to be assimple as that! apart from if the result stays like this it may take more than 6 points
Tilley Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 We need two wins and a draw to be safe I think. But i cannot see us doing that. We need a Watford fight back - BIG TIME.
NorthernFox Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Not sure if this has been done before but this is the last 19 seasons in the championship with the team relegated in the third spot and points they had. I think this could be a record points total for going down... 2006/07 Southend 42 2005/06 Crewe 42 2004/05 Gillingham 50 2003/04 Walsall 51 2002/03 Sheff Wed 46 2001/02 Crewe 49 2000/01 Huddersfield 48 1999/00 Walsall 46 1998/99 Bury 47 1997/98 Manchester City 48 1996/97 Grimsby 46 1995/96 Millwall 52 1994/95 Burnley 46 1993/94 Birmingham 51 1992/93 Brentford 49 1991/92 Plymouth 48 1990/91 WBA 48 1989/90 Bournemouth 48 1988/89 Shrewsbury 42 If we fail to beat Colchester the fat bird might just start clearing her throat.....
