tartanowl Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Shocking result for you guys today. How did you play? Luckily for both of us Blackpool are dropping like a stone and Coventry are far from out of it. We actually play Blackpool next weekend. I'm very much looking forward to a drunken weekend in chav paradise and hopefully 3 more points to lead us towards safety. Plymouth on Monday will be a big test for us. They're still in the hunt for the playoffs and it's the return to Hillsborough of Paul Sturrock. He's really going to want to get a result. We're playing well though, we've only lost 1 game in 12 and that was a 95th minute winner by WBA. The match is on Skysports so you'll be able to get a feel of what we'll be like at your place soon. Here's hoping our unbeaten run continues!

dandannieldanok Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I remember the time we were away at Burnley - we played a midfield of:(right to left) Sylla - Gudjonsson - Kisnorbo - Hughes And then a forward line of: Dublin - de Vries --- Yeah, wonderful football. That midfield has more goal potential that our current team put together
Jack Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 That midfield has more goal potential that our current team put together I've seen Sunday league teams with more potential then our team Mate
Joe. Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Yeah I'll definitely be watching the game Monday night. Not really too sure who I'd actually want to win out of Wednesday and Blackpool reall. I'd probably go for Wednesday purely because they're more likely to pick up results else where than Blackpool, who like you say are dropping like a stone. We've both got massive games next week with us at Barnsley too. Could be the game that makes or breaks us.
Maybes Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 To be honest I can only see us getting two more points. A draw away at Barnsley and a draw at home to Wednesday. Wednesday will come here and will be ready to fight, therefore we wont beat them. They will want it more than our bunch.

They've got Plymouth at home followed by Blackpool away. With the form Blackpool are in, I can see Wednesday collecting 6 points.
Tilley Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 It's us, Cov or Blackpool. I think Blackpool's freefall might or hopefully just save us, just.

Wed seem content on drawing games instead But no, seriously, if they lose against Plymouth they'll be right up shit creek like ourselves, and then I wouldn't want to gamble on who picks the shortest straw out of us, Wed, Saints, Cov and Blackpool (I reckon Barnsley are out of it)...

It is a worrying trend the amount of draws we've had. We've been outplaying teams but not finishing them off. I'm looking on the positive though in the fact that we're playing decent football, creating chances, scoring (albeit not enough), and not losing matches. Some of the other teams around us (by the sounds of things yourselves included) are not playing well and don't look up for the battle. Blackpool next weekend is the most crucial game for us. Lose that and I would say we are in serious trouble. As for Barnsley. Not won since August/September away from home and then they get 2 wins in a week? WTF?

There's been plenty of games where we've not played well and continue to do so but many of those games we have still been better than the opposition including today our major problem and it's been this way for many a year, only worst this year is that we just can't score goals.
filbertboy Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 It's us, Cov or Blackpool. I think Blackpool's freefall might or hopefully just save us, just. I agree ! Its between us Cov and Blackpool despite Shef Wed being in bottom three I think they will get out of it and the way Blackpool are falling they may just save our necks.
maddog Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Key match in our relegation battle for obvious reasons, we need Plymouth to win to keep us out of the relegation zone. Anyone else be cheering Plymouth on, it is on SKY i think? Come on you pilgrims
Koke Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 This is a good read for Us, Wednesday, Saints and the scums. Reality check for fallen giants battling to avoid a second drop
Koke Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 But the fact is Coventry City has been on a life support machine for years. You don't sort that out with a couple of aspirins, it takes major surgery That applies to us as well.

shen Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Reading a comment in another thread about us not "realistically being able to match Stoke" on the final day of the season. Well, in fact, I see this as the game we're most likely to win out of our remaining three. We are Leicester after all and always defy logic...

Very lucky to get a point. You'd never have though they were top of the table.
