Candidcamera Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 What idiot was working the tannoy today - shocker announcing 2 mins extra time at the same time they were scoring totally threw me and probably the players too. No excuse for that please do something about him.
Mort Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 His name makes for great Du Du Du Du-ing. I'm starting to think that is the only sodding reason for the Fryatt worship we get treated to every sodding game!... still I'm sure he'll find his form if we go down...
C-man Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 He's had four months to sort us out mentally, and failed. What makes you think he should be given any more time? I try to support my team however poorly they are playing, whatever sequence of results they are getting and whatever other fans might say. Supporting the team, for me, means getting behind the manager aswell. I just really can't be bothered with another change of manager. I hate the waiting around in between thinking 'Oh God what if its Peter Reid or Joe Royle'. What makes me think he should be given more time? Why does it matter? At the end of the day I have a different opinion to you, just like I did (and still do) with the Mandaric takeover. One thing about being a football fan is having your own opinion and mine is that Holloway should stay. I'd never make a good lawyer as I'm not very good at arguing my case. I just want this club to succeed, whoever is in charge and I hope it's Holloway. We have recently lost to every team we have played around us in the relegation zone (Home and Away) but RatBoys the man for you!! ...U NOB! You make an interesting point. See above.
Frenzied Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 We were poor today, although in the first half we played some good stuff at times - particularly down the left. I was slightly suprised with the line-up at first but less so when I saw that N'Gotty was playing in midfield, with Hendrie and Oakley both playing in advanced roles. Unfortunately I think N'Gotty is past-it and as a result not quick enough. However, that team was pretty much the one that thrashed West Brom. Second half we were abismal. Our fate, however, is still in our own hands, for the simple reason that Cov's game in hand is against Sheff Wed and we have to play four of the teams around us. Also Sheff Wed's other game in hand is against Sheff United, away.
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I'm not worried yet. I don't care how much you lot will keep going on about how things are dire and we are doomed as we aren't at all. Yes, we do need to pick up points against the teams down and around us but I think that we can achieve that and in doing so, we will stay up. If it comes down to us HAVING to win the last couple of games of the season to stay up, THEN I will think, fook me, this is bad and we are severely in trouble... right now, there is pressure but we can still escape from the drop and its really frustrating when people go on about how we need to get rid of Ollie and how we are the worst City team ever... it really doesn't help at all and only makes the atmosphere depressing when at the moment, although there is reason to be CONCERNED, there is no reason to think that we are down!!!! 1. Getting rid of Ollie WILL DO ABSOLUTELY FOOK ALL!!!! How do you think that with only a handful of games left of the season, getting someone else in to sort it out will help!!! It is possibly the STUPIDEST thing I've heard all season to think that bringing ANOTHER manager in will do ANYTHING... GET REAL! 2. Yes, Sheffield Wednesday have two games in hand on us and we could be 2 points off safety if they pick up some of those points but in retrospect, who can HONESTLY say out of the last two games you expected us to pick up ANY points!?! I certainly can't say I expected 3... 2 at best in my opinion but I only saw us getting 1. And IF we can look back on these last two games and look to build on them, positives and negatives then hopefully we can get the results we need to stay up. 3. Those of you who phoned in on Radio Leicester after the match are total jokes. Alright, it's OK to have an opinion but when they are so stupid, I can't really say nothing. "We are the worst City team I've ever seen." or "We have to get rid of Ollie now... it's the only solution." WHAT UTTER CRAP! We aren't the WORST team ever... I've seen MUCH worse performances and again, sacking Ollie wouldn't help! We'd probably get a new man in with about 4 games left and even then, it would probably have a negative effect on the players as it would only go to show that the board don't have any confidence in them at all as Ollie can't be totally to blame here... I know a lot of you won't agree with this but to be honest, I really don't care... think what you like. It's just that I can't really see WHY, you lot that think we are doomed, are ALREADY doomed when we have just lost a game that on the face of it, most of you would have expected us to not get anything out of anyway had it not been for the 4-1 win over West Brom... it's defeatist, and not only that, it's VERY frustrating to have to continue to listen to it ALL the time when there isn't much need for it as we STILL HAVE A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF STAYING UP! It's like people have said... we have the best run in out of the teams down there... I'm prepared for the onrush of berating from anyone that disagrees and I know this will post will only get me enemies... then again, what is wrong with just giving my opinion and having a bit of belief in our team!?!
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 FilboFox, you are ledge. Why is that then... I'm only showing a little support... At least you aren't having a go at me... I still expect some to though.
C-man Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Why is that then... I'm only showing a little support...At least you aren't having a go at me... I still expect some to though. I seriously admire your courage and optimism in these really trying times. I am one of the more optimistic people on this forum but no-one can compare to you. Although you do post some rubbish about the play-offs etc you do post some relevant stuff about supporting the team and if all our fans got behind the team like you do, supporting Leicester would be a lot more enjoyable. Fair play to you.

Fair play to you. About the play-offs... as for that, it was merely a joke... saying that it was possible... although I never believed it. Just thought it was an interesting thing to point out... that we could have made it to the play-offs had we won every game. I am still very optimistic but at the same time, am also realistic... we aren't down until we are down... and I don't think that it will happen... I'm not panicking yet as I still have great faith in our players and manager keeping us up.
Thracian Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Everything about that post is correct. Poor selection, poor tactics, poor execution. Just poor.Oh and before ibbosuk or anyone starts to suggest that I'm turning on Ollie after last week when I backed him 100%, I'm not. I still think he'll be the man to keep us up, and hopefully sort us out mentally over the summer. Reading his media columns he needs to sort himself out first.
TrickyTrev Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I agree with the tactically clueless bit in terms of playing players out of position - but are his tactical deficiancies to blame for the players underperforming and not showing the passion, commitment and drive to succeed? In terms of the left wing for example, the only option is Laczko surely? Nobody else in the squad is a left winger. Yet he doesn't even make the bench! Tactically clueless? Probably so. Well Yes it is his fault. If you put Bruno N'Gotty in central midfield and expect him to spread the play he will look show, lumbering and shite. If you put make Bazza and Fryatt play wide then they'll look clueless.
MC Prussian Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 God help us. Didn't you know it died from a heart attack whilst watching Leicester City FC play?
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Seriously... anyone would think that you WANTED us to go down just to prove your point about us being shit!!!
Samilktray Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Seriously... anyone would think that you WANTED us to go down just to prove your point about us being shit!!! Dont think any point needs to be proved. We are shit.
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I really don't see how ANY of us can sit here on our computers and comment on decisions that Ollie has to make. Have we EVER been in his situation!?! NO. We just watch the matches and have NO IDEA what is going on on the training ground or when making selections!!! It may be that the Hungarians aren't fit or simply aren't good enough and as for Clemence, Ollie, like many others, must have been thinking that we didn't need him as we were playing much better without him!!! Many of you were saying that Ollie would be INSANE if he put him in for the Hull game... now you are all saying that he was foolish for leaving him out!!! FFS, there is about as much consistency in your opinions as there is in Leicester's performances!!!
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Dont think any point needs to be proved. We are shit. Yeah, we are shit most of the time but there have been some games when we look MUCH better and like a team that ought to be in the play-offs... its just that you lot seem to WANT us to go down just to back you're points about us being shit and Ollie being a crap manager... AND THEN YOU HAVE THE GALL TO WONDER WHY WE SAY BACK THE TEAM!!!! I mean come on... you must be THE MOST PESSIMISTIC bunch of tossers on the planet... you have all but resigned to relegation... we excuse me if I don't until we are down!!!!!

Many of you were saying that Ollie would be INSANE if he put him in for the Hull game... now you are all saying that he was foolish for leaving him out!!!FFS, there is about as much consistency in your opinions as there is in Leicester's performances!!! Well of course there's no consistency in the opinions because they belong to 100+ people so how you can use this disparity to justify anything you say is illogical. But there is a consistent message from a high proportion of people and that is that Ollie is not producing the goods and I don't mean a promotion winning team just one that can hold it's head up high and keep us out of the relegation zone. Only the solution to this under performing from those people is varying.
davieG Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Yeah, we are shit most of the time but there have been some games when we look MUCH better and like a team that ought to be in the play-offs... its just that you lot seem to WANT us to go down just to back you're points about us being shit and Ollie being a crap manager... It's really a question of balance, the number of games out of the 26 that he's managed where we look good you can count on one hand that is simply not good enough with the resources he has at his disposal.
Simi Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Yeah, we are shit most of the time but there have been some games when we look MUCH better and like a team that ought to be in the play-offs... its just that you lot seem to WANT us to go down just to back you're points about us being shit and Ollie being a crap manager... You are one of the most deluded people on this forum. You're grating on me something rotten now. I've not really seen that many people lying down facing the fact we're going down. Just recognizing the facts that we're in deep shit and nothing performances like yesterday WILL see us sink into League 1. If you can't see that then I'm afraid that YOU are looking through some glasses with a rose tint. All I see from you is the defence of Ollie and the hope that we will turn things around and pull out yet another one off performance. I don't think you went to the game yesterday did you? So therefore cannot offer an opinion on whether Ollie's decsions were correct or not, as you can't tell the way the game is going. All the above is, is debate abut the game yesterday and where we went wrong and where we will look to improve. Yes, there is pessimism, there is bound to be. There has been nothing but disappointing league form now for three years, despite false dawns of hope that we might manage something like a top half finish. From people offering an opinion that have been to those games, there will be anger and a lack of optimism. If you won't understand that, there really is no hope. Back the team yes, like others have done all season, but when you watch gutless shite like we did yesterday, afterwards you have to let off the steam on the forum.
filbertway Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Oh well, we lost to a team 3rd in the league, it's hardly suprising.
davieG Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Oh well, we lost to a team 3rd in the league, it's hardly suprising. This is the irritating thing that you and Filbo don't seem to be able to grasp, it's not the defeat in itself it was the abject performance that led to it and there have been far too many of them Why don't you listen to what your leader is saying; just in case you've got your blinkers on I'll make it large and in colour. Manager Ian Holloway described the 90 minutes as “the worst performance I have seen for a long, long time''
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 You are one of the most deluded people on this forum. Back the team yes, like others have done all season, but when you watch gutless shite like we did yesterday, afterwards you have to let off the steam on the forum. I can clearly see we are in deep shit and I don't need you to tell me!!! But what I object to is the utter rubbish some of you insist on posting such as we are the worst team ever and it's all Ollie's fault!!! HOW!?! Ollie himself admitted that the team played shit and lets face it, he didn't ask them to play like that did he!!! The players are the ones we should be directing our annoyances on and not the manager who although hasn't had the best start to his career here is just about keeping the team up who were on a slippery slope down before he came here. Yes, we've played shit under him but this team would under ANY manager so why the **** do you keep going on about it being Ollie's fault!!! I am not deluded you plank, I'm just trying to remain positive and get on with what we have... Ollie, given time and the right team is a good manager and why everyone seems to think otherwise just because he can't make Leicester Shity play well ALL the time is beyond me... You also go on about how you want us to be playing well enough to just stay up, well... we do very well on occasions but LIKE EVERY OTHER TEAM AROUND US, we play shit more often than not!!! YOU are living in cloud cuckoo land if you think that we could play well every week... I'm just not worried yet as I can still see us surviving and I don't see the need for all this pessimism about our chances of survival...
FilboFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 It's really a question of balance, the number of games out of the 26 that he's managed where we look good you can count on one hand that is simply not good enough with the resources he has at his disposal. What resources?!? He came in in November and had to make do with a shit team. He then proceeded to sign a few decent players in the transfer window but the vast majority of the team is still VERY poor... Milan isn't handing out money like there is no tomorrow and so he HAS had a limited budget to sort out a team that needs A LOT of work. I would say, to get us back to being a decent team, AT LEAST £20 million would be needed as there is SO MUCH work to be done... No other manager would have done better and I will stand by that belief as I just can't see how they would have with the obscenely CRAP players we have to see week in week out!

One week, you are all saying that you don't want Clemence to play as we are better without him, then next you are blaming Ollie for NOT playing him!!! Fickle fickle supporters... And Ollie not doing a good enough job... well... what else can he do? He sets out decent tactics and plays our best players yet they just don't perform. ITS THE PLAYERS!!!! Why are you all using Ollie as the scapegoat when it is clearly the players that have to be held accountable. Did Ollie ask them to play like that yesterday!?! NO! He can only do so much... the players have to take it through from the training field and onto the pitch!!!
