Uncle Albert Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 When did i say he does that ?When did i comment on the way he captains a side for that. You were saying a captain can lead by example yes?
Samilktray Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 You were saying a captain can lead by example yes? I said David Beckham lead by example. I didnt say Rio Ferdinand did. I just made the point that you dont have to be a captain of your club side to be an effective captain of your national side.

So you honestly think that Rio will be more effective as John Terry as England Captain.
Simi Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 So you honestly think that Rio will be more effective as John Terry as England Captain. Depends what you want from a captain? Some player that has a past experience of losing his head and surrounding and intimidating referees. Or someone who is a much more respected figure and more consistent performer for England.
Samilktray Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 So you honestly think that Rio will be more effective as John Terry as England Captain. Didnt say this either. How can i say without having seen him captain England. I never really thought John Terry was that good as England captain, not yet anyway.

He respects ref's that much he also got a booking on Sunday for decent towards Mr.Bennett. John Terry is an arsehole towards refs but i would still prefer him to Ferdinand for some reason. Ferdinand is the better player and alot more consistent, but John Terry has also achieved alot as being captain though. JT has won 5 trophies for his club side being captain.

I did not see him getting booked for dissent on Sunday myself, if he did I apologise. I think a lot of people would prefer Terry just because of the fact he shows his passion and commitment for his country. Not always the best thing though as we noticed with Paddy McCarthy. If I was going to give it to anyone for the game on Wednesday, it'd be David James.

Yea just for kicking the ball away when he fouled Torres. Personally mine would be Owen or Gerrard if he didnt want to give it John Terry of course. Sol Campbell would be in with a shout aswell.

Uncle Albert Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 That's not dissent surely? Yes it is actually. Havent got a Level 1 Certificate from the F.A for no reason.
Tommy G Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Give Rio a chance. Why not? I personally despise Terry so I'm glad Rio has been chosen.

lildave3 Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 James Johnson Woodgate Ferdinand Lescott Bentley Hargreaves Lampard Cole. J. Walcott Rooney Is what i'd love, shame it has no chance of happening. I do love a good experiment though.

Brainy Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 David Beckham will win his 100th England cap in the friendly against France on Wednesday, coach Fabio Capello has confirmed. "I couldn't make him come all the way from the USA and not play him," said Capello, who did not reveal whether Beckham, 32, would start the fixture.
lildave3 Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Why? u never know but prefer Stevie G instead on Lamps Because the big boys will play. And Lampard has a lot to prove, more than Gerrard, that's why i'd play him.
