DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 3-2!!! I don't know what was worse, my nerves towards the end of the game, or having to sit through Walter Smith's anti-football. 4-1-4-1, what the hell is that? And their game plan consisted of hoofing it to Nacho Novo, and praying to god that we would concede enough corners. Walter Smith = Gary Megson. God the air smelt sweet tonight. Smelt sweet in the pub, in my car on the way home and it smells sweet now as I write this - it's the smell of victory. It's the smell of knowing that thousands of tims in Glasgow are heading home today with a smile on their faces. It's the smell of knowing that thousands of tims around the world are smiling with me. And of course it's the smell of knowing the orcs are going back to Mordor with their tails between their legs. Again. Enjoy the return leg to Fiorentina. 0-0 at home - laughable.
potter3 Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Hmm, a British side in the UEFA Cup, or the chance to see two sides most have never heard of. I cannae see why ITV chose Rangers..... Was I talking about myself? I don't think so, sunshine.... Was I talking about you? I used you as a generic term as you said most people have never heard of them.

While I have no great love for the huns I felt they were slightly unlucky today. They really gave it a go in the first half and should really have been ahead at half-time. They also had a couple of big decisions go against them, which is quite a rarity in Old Firm matches. Still, the result means that the title race is tilting further towards Celtic, especially as Rangers picked up yet another injury and another suspension.
Ultra Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 I also think will fatigue will set in, especially if their current winless streak continues.
Ultra Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 It would crack me up if barca win the CL and rangers win the UEFA cup. I don't think the people of Manchester will be too thrilled at having 50000+ Rangers fans turning up in their city. Especially as Manchester is well-known for having a large Irish Catholic population..

The did give it a go early in the first half, but towards the end of the first half and throughout the second half we held possession and had some cracking chances. Scotty Mac's second was a freakish goal. Watching the replay, the goalie didn't even know what was coming until it was too late. But nevertheless McGeady was pressing the ball forward all the time.

As someone who works in and lives near Manchester you are wide of the mark.Pubs, clubs hotels will be packed and it will be a great atmosphere.Manchester wants Rangers to get to the final ps there were more arrests at Mansfield v Rotherham this weekend than the old firm match cmon the Gers
Ultra Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 3-1 for them today v. Dundee U. (cracking goal by MDV though.. ) But the gers had the benefit of some VERY dubious decisions.
Corky Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 3-1 for them today v. Dundee U. (cracking goal by MDV though.. )But the gers had the benefit of some VERY dubious decisions. Old Craigy Levein was not tae happy with the referee. Heard his usual though, the lads played well, controlled the game. He used to say the same when he was at us, even at 4-0 down.

dandannieldanok Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Has anyone else listened to Craig Levein's post match interview on the BBC website, he sounded furious .
Corky Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Has anyone else listened to Craig Levein's post match interview on the BBC website, he sounded furious . Saw it on the TV mate, he was livid. But then again, he always blamed referees when he was with us, so no change there.
Ultra Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Saw it on the TV mate, he was livid. But then again, he always blamed referees when he was with us, so no change there. But this time he had a point. Two gers should have been sent off, Dundee U should have had a penalty and had a goal disallowed for a very spurious offside. Rangers do at times have a touch of Juventus about them..

BigGibbo Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Does anyone else think they are going to get annihilated in the Uefa Cup Final?
purpleronnie Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Does anyone else think they are going to get annihilated in the Uefa Cup Final? nope.
Jack Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Does anyone else think they are going to get annihilated in the Uefa Cup Final? I think they will as well tbh with you.
Mark Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Depends if Arshavin is playing, one of the best players in Europe on his day, though Russian teams never seem to do well away from Russia for some reason.
SamL Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 I think they will as well tbh with you. I don't, I think they've got a pretty good chance if I'm honest. I'd like them to win it.

purpleronnie Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 Everyone has bet against Rangers to lose throughout the tournament (apart from me see previous threads), they always seem to be written off no idea why. It will be tough but thrashed, doubt it. Whatever happens hopefully people will realise rangers have a great side.

Whatever happens hopefully people will realise rangers have a great side. It will be close IMO. Rangers are very resilient, just look at the teams they have beaten and remember the conjested fixture list they have had! Good side, excellent defensively. I think the Munich result was a supprise but were ST P's that giood or Munich that bad?
