"we'll be well rid of him in the summer", "waste of space", "not a patch on weso", "chosen man", "Oakley/Hendrie down the middle!" etc, etc... Sorry... but some folks are so damn selective in their criticism!

Sorry... but some folks are so damn selective in their criticism! Six assists = fifteen hundred corners and free kicks. I can whip corner and free kicks into the box all day and eventually someone will score. This is the same theory Thracian uses when defending wonder boy. Load of bollocks if you ask me. And I quite like Clemence and thinks he gets some unfair stick on here.
lildave3 Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 No surprise to see McAuley as the leading fouler I bet Kisnorbo is second.
DB11 Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 No surprise to see McAuley as the leading fouler I bet Kisnorbo is second. Aren't most CBs the leading foulers???
filbertway Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Aren't most CBs the leading foulers??? Center mids? Big dirty strikers like howards. i wouldn't say CB's always are.
Simi Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Aren't most CBs the leading foulers??? Not always. But looking at the stats, it's hardly surprising to see McAuley up there and as LD3 says, it's likely Kisnorbo is a close second. Both of them give away so many stupid fouls in ridiculous areas. The one that gets me the most is the pushing one when a player has his back to him. McAuley always fouls there and puts pressure on us. Apart from the basics of defending which they do well, both of them are overrated in my opinion.

Fair enougth, but in a team of underachivers Clemence is hardly the worst offender and the most assists this season is still more than any other player on our books has managed (though now i think about it Gradel might well have racked up more).

At least Kisnorbo is slightly faster, slightly more comfortable on the ball, a more accurate and powerful header, and when he hoofs it he tends to hoof it reasonably accurately rather than McAuley's which go anywhere. Neither are specifically good footballers and I'd want that partnership broken up next season if possible. Hopefully Worley's going to kick on and try to stake a first team place.
clazkel Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Fryatt has had 68 shots, how many shots have the other strikers had compared to the amount of games they have played, probably not that many. At least he is shooting, the other strikers aren't getting in the positions. Stick with him and he will get match fit and will gain confidence, once he scores he will keep scoring! Just stick with him, he's been playing out of position recently remember
Father Ted Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 This made me laugh. Ha. And probably the most touches before a shot aswell.

Flynny Posted 30 March 2008 Author Posted 30 March 2008 I wonder how many of those shots were weak and from 18-20 yards, just out of interest.
Guest Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Shots? I thought that they were pass backs to the keeper.

We've struggled to deliver dangerous free-kicks or corner since January. As is emphasised in black and white by the stats that show our still status-threatening shortage of goals. It doesn't matter how goals come, just that they do come. And I would love to see exactly how good your corners and free-kicks are because you dismiss the skill as something commonplace. It's not.
