General lee Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Can't think why. Me neither, we our in the bottom 3 and we derserve to go down at the end of the day. I can see us winning tommorrow but losing to Barnsley and drawing to Sheff Wed then losing at Stoke. Been getting away with it for the last 4 years ... Bound to happen sooner or later. Tis a shame though.
C-man Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 The noise will be there no question - but there was plenty of noise a Sheffield too. Well there are two possibilities with regards to this. (a) The game starts with the Leicester fans getting behind the team, singing the Great Escape and We are Staying up amongst others. The noise is constant with City battering Colchester and City go one-nil up before half time. The half-time whistle blows and there is applause all round the stadium. The teams come back out and Leicester play with confidence backed by 20,000 noisy fans who are enjoying their afternoon. City score once or twice more and people leave the stadium in confident spirits, believing we can get the result we need at Barnsley. (b) The whistle blows for the start of the match but the majority of fans are sat on their hands expecting City to do the job without any help from the supporters. Pockets of fans in the kop and L1 do their best to spur on the rest of the fans but they are disinterested as Colchester score a scrambled goal from a corner. Fans suddenly find their voices and raise them in a negative way. It's half time and a chorus of boos rings round Filbert Way. In the second-half, City press for an equaliser but moans and groans greet their missed chances and Colchester hold out for a win. City are doomed. Please let it be possibilty (a).
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Tomorrow's game and the other home game against Sheffield Wednesday are MUST WIN games. Always have been in my book. The advantage we have with tomorrow's result going for us is that it puts Sheffield Wednesday very much on the back foot. 2 points behind, and 2 full days to mull over that fact before a tricky game against Plymouth. Assuming they lose this or draw but do not win, as long as we match their result the following week at Barnsley and turn them over at our place, the last game is, in effect, pointless. Goal difference won't even come into play. And it needs to be pointless. I can't see us getting anything at Stoke. We need to finish this by our last home game. If you think it over for a bit, it's quite a realistic situation to find ourselves in. We might even find ourselves only needing a point from the final home game - but as results have gone against us of late, let's not get too confident.
bringbackWalshie Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 we'll stay up. Three 1-0 wins 2moro, sheff wed and dare i say stoke to deny them automatic promotion. Blue army
DB11 Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Depends if we win tomorrow. Well, actually it depends if we lose or draw... No Win = Relegation. Win = Possible Relegation.
WetFlannel Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 we are going to make it just but this season has been a shocker and one to forget for all concerned with the club
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Can't think why. Easier run in, a squad that has the potential to be fantastic in this division, and the fact that the table is tighter than it has probably ever been. We CAN beat Colchester, and have already beaten Weds and Barnsley with a supposedly "worse" team. Perhaps confident is the wrong word, but the season isn't over until it's over. You don't walk out halfway through a film, because there could be a few surprise twists around the corner.
Daggers Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 You don't walk out halfway through a film, because there could be a few surprise twists around the corner. You haven't seen Showgirls have you? I haven't really as I walked out half way through.
Raj Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Tis a good question. can we stay up? My answer is precise and to the point...... maybe.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 You haven't seen Showgirls have you? I haven't really as I walked out half way through. Just after the pool scene then.
Vardinhio Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Mark my words. Tomorrow we will win 3-0. Colchester know if we go down with them we will be favorites to win the league and they don't want that do they. Hume to score first from the spot.

I had a similar thought the other day actually. However, there are clubs just as big as us that are in trouble aswell who would also be favourites to come straight back up like Soton, Weds and Cov. On this basis, Colchester would be hoping Blackpool or Barnsley go down with them.
Joe. Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Even if we did happen to lose tomorrow I still wouldn't commit to saying we're going down. It's not just about tomorrow, there's three other games as well. But lose tomorrow and it comes down to Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday. Tomorrow can just become a bit of restbite if you like, relieve a bit of pressure. I think we need 5 or 6 points, and at least 3 of those coming from either of these two teams.

Koke Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 People are too pessimistic for my liking. Wednesday and the Scums are more likely to lose to Plymouth and Stoke respectively than we are to Colchester. I dread to think the environment at this place if we were to face Stoke and Wednesday were to face Colchester and the Scum v Plymouth. Most people would be on suicide watch then.

To be fair,my tall tall friend. People have enough reasons to be pessimistic this season. Too many false dawns has resulted in us being in this situation with 4 games left. Really.....who would have though it at the beginning of the campaign. I know alot of people think that this IS the season that we finally get what we deserve after 4 seasons of failure. They think the writing is on the wall and after the demise of Forest and Leeds into the third tier it is destiny that we will join them. I dont share these sentiments but im still shitting myself!
C-man Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Seen the League One table this season? True, I wouldn't have expected Carlisle and Swansea to be the top two at this stage. It's been that kind of season in the Football League. Surely it'll return to some sort of normality next season?

I'm shitting myself too, I can assure you that. But I mean, we are playing Colchester tomorrow. I can't imagine how people would be like if we were playing Stoke instead, and our bitter neighboroughs were facing Colchester. A lot things will happen between now and May 4th - And besides, the fat lady hasn't even picked up her microphone yet cos she doesn't know which ground she'll be singing yet. And she won't know until May 4th.
maddog Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Deep down i know we aint gonna go down. I rekon 1 of the 6 teams down there will lose all their remaining matches and its not going to be us with our 2 home games. We will be safe before the last day i rekon, but we can still stop Stoke from achieving promotion
Daggers Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 im still shitting myself! I'm shitting myself too I'm starting to understand the slightly odd aroma in The Walkers.
FilboFox Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 we're due another 4 goal winning game like Norwich and WBA so I guess we'll get it against Sheffield Wed and stay up getting a narrow win tomorrow and then maybe a point against Barnsley. COME ON YOU FOXES!!!
Jack Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Im shitting myself just for the fact we only seem to turn up against big teams, part of the reason we are in such a mess. The players need to play with their hearts on theirs sleeves tomorrow and give us a performance as well as the 3 points we so desperatley need.
Chimp Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 I hate to say it. But nobody knows nothing. So, someone knows something?
