Tommy G Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Anyone had any experience with this brand? I know they are renouned for quality in the mainstream market. Im getting the Companion 3 Multimedia set for my PC as all my music is on there and my computer already has a good sound card. It's at a decent price of £199.99 aswell. I was looking at Bang & Olufsen but they're products are just way way out my price range.
MC Prussian Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Sennheiser's worth a go, as well. They produce some of the best earplugs available, the CX300. It's my personal choice for anything portable, because they give you a clear sound quality and a decent amount of base. Plus, they omit most of the noise to the outside, so your immediate neighbours in public remain unharmed.

hairy Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 What format are your music files in? FLAC? Apple? MP3?
Tommy G Posted 11 April 2008 Author Posted 11 April 2008 What format are your music files in? FLAC? Apple? MP3? MP3 I guess? I download from I Tunes and have a dell PC. Sorry if that isn't much help but my computer knowledge is limited!
Samilktray Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 MP3 I guess? I download from I Tunes and have a dell PC.Sorry if that isn't much help but my computer knowledge is limited! Does this mean you PAY for music ?
Tommy G Posted 11 April 2008 Author Posted 11 April 2008 Does this mean you PAY for music ? Yeh, I actually fancy listening to music for years to come. It's people like you that will eventually bring the music industry down
hairy Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Yeh, I actually fancy listening to music for years to come. It's people like you that will eventually bring the music industry down Firstly dont be an arse. Secondly, itunes files are in AAC format of generally a bite rate of 128 kbps. They can go up to 320kbps. I really would think seriously if a relatively lossey file format would let your sound quality down. They are better than mp3 yes but I would not waste my money on £200 speakers when you are running lossey files. Just trying to help. I have Bose in the car and they are good.

So you download illegally aswell? How am I being an arse saying that - its the truth So what would you reccommend on an AAC format? Yeh I agree with in-car bose systems, someone at work had his A3 kitted out with a bose system and its pure quality.
Alexikokopops Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Yeh, I actually fancy listening to music for years to come. It's people like you that will eventually bring the music industry down I download perfectly legally, is there enough room for me on your high horse? Anyway, it's worth saving up for Band and Olufson just so you can re-enact
Samilktray Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Yeh, I actually fancy listening to music for years to come. It's people like you that will eventually bring the music industry down The people putting the music out there to download are "bringing down the music industry" Get it right next time instead of making generalizations like that.
Tommy G Posted 11 April 2008 Author Posted 11 April 2008 Oh fu ck off. So your saying it's their fault that YOU download the music? If you didn't download it then there wouldn't be a market for it.

Did you know most leaks of music come from the record companies themselves? The musics out there, i can download retail quality music for free or i can pay for the same thing. Its not a hard decision to make.

Look, lets all calm down, watch this episode of South Park (specifically 6:04 onwards), and laugh to high heaven http://www.allabout-sp.net/?p=season7/709

You work at a private school, some of the teaching you do for free, and some of it you get paid for, would you appreciate that? I think not. I feel like smashing my head through the computer never mind listening to music
Samilktray Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 So yeah, Bose sound systems have always impressed me when I've seen them, always look pretty swish.
Daggers Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Your not getting my point, and I can't be arsed to keep typing. Copy-paste might help - you'd probably be able to find a better analogy that that one.

hairy Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 So you download illegally aswell? How am I being an arse saying that - its the truth So what would you reccommend on an AAC format? Yeh I agree with in-car bose systems, someone at work had his A3 kitted out with a bose system and its pure quality. I never said I d/l illegally. You said that. I do but its not going to kill music off. Anyway...... My point about the speakers is simple Tommy. In a nutshell it is that if you put shit in, you get shit out, simple. If you music quality is poor, the speaker performance is poor. Dont spend £200 on speakers that will make little difference to the sound as its the music files that let it down.
wirralsimon Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Bose decent enough, but expensive for what you get. I play my iPod through one of these: http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.ph...pid=KENS-SX2000 Not quite as good as the Bose Dock but a very small fraction of the price. You could wire your PC up to one them. Creative Labs amongst a lot of other manufacturers do some good speaker sets for PC's, read some reviews as there are a lot of great option for much less than £200 if you shop around. I also have a second hand B&O system as my main Hifi. The newer stuff is eye-poppingly expensive, but there are some real bargains to be found on eBay, see www.beoworld.org or www.beocentral.com Simon
