It's extremely exciting for us fans also Ollie, glad your enjoying yourself so much... well i think it shows he does care though, if he were to say its another game whatever, who cares? then id be major pissed off, its like when people say they dont like his one liners and things, i prefer them to the cliche bollox they all talk!!
LeeCovFox Posted 18 April 2008 Posted 18 April 2008 To be fair to him, this is what football is all about isn't it? It is exciting, Knowing that this is going to go down to the wire. I don't like it, its not the kind of excitement that I enjoy, because its my own club involved in it. But its the kind of season people remember for years. People now talk about that Tony James goal nostalgically, that season is now part of Leicester City folklore. If we survive, this will be remembered in the same way. Of course, I'm hating this, but Ollie has a point.
sdb Posted 18 April 2008 Posted 18 April 2008 jesus tonight! he didn't mean it like that! it is exciting in a really crap way, he's just being positive. yes have a go at him when we play crap but give the guy a break!!

But it's inevitable that this will turn into a "Ollie is a willy puller!" / "Ollie is my man-lover!" type thread. Oh well.
Shrenchel Posted 18 April 2008 Posted 18 April 2008 Our situation is fooking awful but there's no denying it's blood exciting. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game with much more anticipation than I would if it was just a mid-table formality. Don't see how what Holloway is saying is much different.

Leicester Lass Posted 18 April 2008 Posted 18 April 2008 Have a read through this: I think we probably will end up going down but in the grand scheme of things, is that the end of the world? Is it not a blessing that something like this stirs these emotions in you? Do you not subconsciously enjoy having an excuse to obsess even more completely over football for a few weeks than you do normally? I think you could make a strong case for the next three games being the biggest in our 124-year history. Don't you feel honoured to be a part of that? If you're going to all three games, don't you feel empowered to have the chance to be a part of something you'll probably never forget? We all squabble constantly all year but we're all on the bloody BBC website all day looking at the Championship table, doing the predictor, reading other messageboards, looking on here. A lot of us will be at Barnsley on Saturday, we'll be travelling up nervous as hell. Some of us will find it more difficult to enjoy ourselves than we let on. Colchester last Saturday was difficult to cope with but this one will be ten times worse. Or better, depending on which way you look at it. This is what life's all about. The vast majority of people will go through their entire lives without feeling that sudden burst of absolute collective ecstasy during a Tony James or Nils-Eric Johansson moment. Hopefully there will be another name to go alongside those quite soon. And even if we don't manage to pull off the greatest escape, at least we've gone through it all. I just heard on the radio that Rochdale have been in the same division for 34 seasons. I'd rather experience promotion and relegation in equal measure than that. Enjoy Barnsley. And now tell me it's not exciting.

Daggers Posted 18 April 2008 Posted 18 April 2008 Phone on charge - check DS on charge - check Archos on charge - check Keys in bag - check Ticket packed - check Train tickets in pocket - check Wallet in other pocket - check Book and earphones sorted - check Waterproof? Check Something light for supper? Six tins of lager and a bottle of wine - check Alarmwife set to arouse me with a cup of tea at seven. Train from the end of the road at 8:30, and off to the pub in Barnsley. I'm excited. I love away days. I love away days when something important hangs on it three times as much. Whatever the result, tomorrow is going to be another one of those footy-related days I'll always remember. For me, the last of the season. Bring it on.

An alarm clock that you can have sex with. Properly. Not just by sticking it on vibrate. Inspired.

LeeCovFox Posted 18 April 2008 Posted 18 April 2008 I now have an enexpectedly free day tomorrow, and some spare money. I want to go to Barnsley. I know the ticket office shuts at 11, but I want to be there for 9, and get myself on a train. So the question is, how expensive is the train likely to be, what times do they run, and how long is the journey? PS. I'm not asking because I'm too lazy to check myself, but because there will be people on here who are going and so will know the answers!

With a young persons railcard from London a saver return is £52. So I would guess that from Leicester or Coventry or wherever the hell you're travelling from it'll be about £35. That's just a guess. The journey should take you about 2 hours I'd say and they'll be trains every half hour/hour or so from Leicester to Sheffield which is a short train ride from Barnsley. I don't know exact answers to any of your questions, as you can probably tell, but I'm sure I've given you enough information to say **** it and come...
