tartanowl Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 Another player out injured for us. Burton O'Brien will miss our last 2 games. We're going to struggle to fill the bench on Saturday. Unless we fill it up with loanees again.

Chimp Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 It wouldnt as we would be two points clear with a game to go. IF Norwich lose to QPR, then a draw for us against Sheff Weds will mean we're safe.
tartanowl Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 Couldn't you recall Kevin Pressman? I'd probably be in with a chance of a game if I brought boots down with me.
lildave3 Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 I hope another fox runs out in front of my car before the weekend.
Koke Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 I hope another fox runs out in front of my car before the weekend. Is that a good luck charm or something? Two foxes ran out in front of my car during the West Brom game as I was listening to it on the radio, and lo and behold, we went on to equalize and the rest is history.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 I reckon we'll get 27-28.000 easily. Not sure about full house though. Same here mate. I would love us to get a massive crowd in but I cant see it. Still undecided on where abouts to sit.

Well one did last week and I prayed it was an omen. I then went on, all ready to sing a song about foxes, then realised we don't have one.
FilboFox Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 Saw a fox for the first time the other day digging around some bins... I thought that must be a sign!
jamfox Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 It’s a Question of survival and malice is meant I hope we get an early goal and take the day to you make it safe it would be fooking awsome... this is going to be fuc@ing horable for both of us and iv makes your feel better we are all over the place when we get it up us. and I feel your pain. I don’t want you to go down and I get the feeling nether do most Leicester fans. Does sheff u have Southampton for there last game? That could be ugly I can see them cheering the other side! It’s come too late for them I think. After 5oclock sat good luck.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 Well one did last week and I prayed it was an omen. I then went on, all ready to sing a song about foxes, then realised we don't have one. Get into them... Fox them up...
lildave3 Posted 22 April 2008 Posted 22 April 2008 The day that Fez can't make up a song is the day that things become impossible.
davieG Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Sheff Weds latest Injury-hit Owls face new Leicester test Published Date: 23 April 2008 By Paul Thompson IT IS for the second year in a row that Wednesday head for Leicester on Saturday seeking to put their fortunes on the rise. Last season their trip to the Walkers Stadium came early in the club's surge up the Championship table and brought a 4-1 win and three exceptional goals. Wednesday made a pre-Christmas improvement in 2006-07, including the Leicester game, then went on to make the second half of the campaign more successful than the first. This time their progress between the 10th and 18 games almost matched last season's pattern. But in the last few months the Owls have gone on more of a downward spiral and have struggled to get away from the foot of the table. This season's dip started after that 18th game: it was a 1-0 win against Barnsley, when the goal came from Akpo Sodje, who has subsequently missed a chunk of the season with an ankle problem. There were times last spring when the Owls did not seem to have a care in the world: they had a settled side and were playing entertaining, winning football. This season, the worst start in Hillsborough history - six consecutive defeats - has perhaps left a lasting mark: the Owls always seem to have been playing catch-up, and have not been helped by continual injury blows, hitting men such as Sodje, Marcus Tudgay, Francis Jeffers, Frankie Simek, Richard Wood, Etienne Esajas, Sean McAllister, Steve Watson and Wade Small, and financial considerations led to the sales of Chris Brunt and Glenn Whelan. The team that won at Leicester last year included Brunt, Whelan, Simek, Madjid Bougherra, and Tudgay. Three of the goals were outstanding long-range shots, from Brunt, Whelan and Tudgay. No-one would be expecting a repeat of that, this weekend, even if all three were still in the team, for goals of such quality are rarely seen in such proliferation in one game. Wednesday and their fans would settled for any old goal so long as it brings the points that are so important to the club's Championship survival. The last time the Owls went to Leicester, there was plenty of time left in their season. Now, there are only two games remaining, but the club and supporters would regard an improvement in results and goal-scoring as vital and better late then never. Tickets for the game have already sold out, and the Owls will have a following of around 3,300, many of them clad in the orange away kit.
Koke Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Glenn Whelan's was a beauty. I must say I applauded the lad when we scored. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say well done, boy. I hate to see Wednesday go down, but time has come where it's every man on his own. We need to save our own skin.
luffbra Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 I went to a course in Manchester yesterday ... I changed trains in Sheffield on the way back. As I had a cigarette at the front of the station, I exuded as much negative energy as I could. Glaring at anyone in Wednesday kit!!
Mwah Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 First Team 1 Lee Grant 2 Lee Bullen 3 Peter Gilbert 4 Kenny Lunt (on loan to Crewe) 5 Richard Hinds 6 Graham Kavanagh (on loan from Sunderland ) 7 Marcus Tudgay 8 Burton O'Brien 9 Francis Jeffers 10 Deon Burton 11 Etienne Esajas 14 Sean McAllister 15 Mark Beevers 16 Richard Wood 17 Steve Watson 18 Leon Clarke 20 Frank Simek 23 Jermaine Johnson 26 Wade Small 27 Robert Burch 29 Adam Bolder (on loan from QPR) 30 Akpo Sodje 32 Tommy Spurr 33 Ronnie Wallwork 34 Ben Sahar (on loan from Chelsea) 35 Franck Songo'o (on loan from Portsmouth) 36 Bartosz Slusarski (on loan from WBA) Injured On comeback trail Suspended 13 fit senior players. Now you guys should see why we have a lot of loans.
tartanowl Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 We also have 3 academy lads in Luke Boden, Rocky Lekaj and Liam McMenamin who may take some part in the matchday squad. Rocky is a winger who has made a couple of appearances in the not so distant past, but he didn't look close to being ready then. Boden is a central midfielder and has had a handful of games. He's the more likely to play out of the lot. McMenamin is a defender and was on the bench at Blackpool but he hasn't played for the first team yet. We're really down to the bare bones. Lee Bullen is back? He came on as a sub at Blackpool. Although he made more of a contribution than most of our players in his brief appearance he's not going to be able to last 90 minutes.

You boys certainly don't need any injuries suspensions or kids to rely on this time of the season especially in the position you are in. If we ever had a chance to beat you it is now. I remember when we played you earlier in the season you were in awful form and bottom of the league. I don't think it will be that easy this time!

We can lend you Matty Fryatt for the day. For once he might do some good for us by sending all his shots into Row Z. As he usually does.

Scored a belter early on in the season, probably about his only goal though. Even if he has been injured since then
Theboybroome Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 I've heard from a friend of mine that there's a load of Wednesday fans bought tickets in our end, hope nothing daft kicks off!
Mwah Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 Nooo! You don't say The away end is going to be in an 'orange wednesday' theme.
