OriginalRobboFOX Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 You're having a laugh, aren't you, Robbo? Namaste (other side of the road, 50 yards up) is loads better, I reckon.Rise of the Raj on Evington Road does everything pretty well, and Harmony on Belgrave Road (not to be confused with the similarly named sex shop on London Road is GREAT Nah, wen my Mrs lived on Latimer Street we used to eat there all the time. Then I brought a house on Stocking Farm and we used to nail the take aways from there. Got quite friendly with the owner.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 The Grand Durbar on Melton Road is a favorite of mine although like robbo said we usually end up in the shamin more often than not.Shimla Pinks is the single worst restaurant i have been in my life , food was rubbish , service shocking and to top it all of they put 15% on the bill as a service charge ! You know what my reaction would have been
Finchy Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 The Tiffin? I think that's what it's called, that was niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
Babylon Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 15% on the bill as a service charge ! You're within your rights to ask for it to be removed. Places like that piss me right off.

Shimla Pinks is a franchise, and one of the shareholders at the Leicester one is my mates bro in law, and apparently the running costs are really high. So i think they try and fleece you as much as possible!!!

Hmmmmmm.... is anyone else craving a curry now. 2 popodums drizzled with loads of raita. Onion Bhajis again rizzled with loads of raita. Keema rice and a chili chicken. Keema Naan or Garlic Naan. Guys, go to an asain shop and you can buy your popadoms pre cooked, you can either fry or ovn cook. The raita is just natural yogurt with masala, chilli peeper and cucumber\lettuce!! Bhaji's, if you can't cook them, buy them from a 'dhaba'\indian sweet shop, you will get 10 times the amount you would do for the same price. The rest you will have to learn to cook!! non are too difficult, your average curry takes around 2 hours to cook though!! Unfortunately i'm having chicken burders and salad tonight!!!!
Babylon Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 All of those my mrs can make and in abundance and great quality!! Tell her to get cooking, i'll be over at 8 with my xbox control.

Would you (in any circumstance) recommend doing one in a slow-cooker, it works really well for intensifying flavours in a casserole etc? I like my curries onion based, lots and lots of onion. Want to experiment a bit though and need some guidance, please, Singh!
