An open letter to Ian Holloway

Ian, you are a human, you suffers the same as most of us do. You have ups and downs, emotions. and you have undergone a lot of trauma in your personal life, and that will make you a much more compassionate person. We can only truely achieve full enlightenment when we understand how suffering is caused.

No one deservers to be so villified, I'm sure, most of us never, personally mean to be abusive when we castigate you for results or team selection, when we attack the the team, or MM, it is just our frustrations coming to the fore. I was full of 'Holloway out,' sentiments too, last Saturday, at 4.50pm. But, I never forget, that you Ian are a human with the same needs, pains and feelings as I have. How would any of us feel, if we had so many people on our back every week, condeming whatever we did? Ok, that's a part of the territory of being in the spotlight these days, especially in shameful world of tabloid journalism. I apolgise for the lecture here, I'm trying here to reach out, to both my own heart and to you and your family. If you or your wife do get to read these replies. Ollie, you will see that city fans are, on the whole decent people, who just care passionatly for the club we have supported all of our life (In my case, since I was taken to see City beat Stoke, would you believe, in the 1964 league cup final). So do take it, as read, that we at Leicester City do not, ever wish to see any ill come to you or your lovely family. We may dislike your tactics yes, but, that is just healthy debate.

Whether you stay or leave next season, I for one, know you will have done your best. And I sure as hell am glad not to have to be in your shoes having all of that presure. Take care

John, on behave of all true and loyal LCFC supporters

I know, at some point he must have said "Stevie (Howard), you are doing a great job for the team, the fans love you, keep it up".

Yeah. at West Brom.

Or didn't that game count? :frusty:

..with an extremely sympathetic employer, and a monthly salary cheque way above what most fans earn in a year.

This is an interview that this media slut should have passed on. All it will will boost the Stoke players' confidence even more.

Incidentally, on the opposing page to the interview in the paper is a quote from Sir Alex Ferguson about a manager who lets his owner pick the side each week. Now who could he possibly be thinking of?

Hopefully now he will also realise that he is tactically inept as 32000 fans found out on Saturday and that he should not be playing donkey's like Clapham and Howard!

Spot on, you have summed it up!

I do feel alittle sorry for the stick Clapham gets tho because i think people criticise him coz Mattock should be playing. I don't think Clapham has done much wrong, but i think Mattock would do alot more as he's far better than Clapham coming forward.

Mattock in for Clapham

Hayles or Fryatt in for Howard

Clapham is an inept full back. I don't rate him one bit. He's a liability and when he receives the ball he doesn't know what to do with it, and he ends up hoofing it 40 yards down the channel, just for Bell or Hume to chase it. All the stick he's got is fully deserved. He is no more than a back-up player. He offers absolutely nothing going forward, and he's a big liability at the back.

Other than in a couple of matches he hasn't done much wrong but the problem is he hasn't done much right either and, in our situation, we cannot make progress with neutral players.

Clapham might defend well enough and help secure us a 0-0 but he makes one more player in the side who's never likely to help make it 1-0 or 2-0.

We have simply have too many such players in the team at different times this season and the Clapham situation was self-inflicted because we previously had a player there who did help things to happen and probably by a margin that would have ensured our safety by now.

To be honest, as he's been playing generally for the first team, Mattock doesn't make enough happen either. At his best he'll probably offer more going forward than Clapham but he's also slightly more prone to making costly mistakes.

Hammond's the one player in the squad the manager hasn't fcuked up.

On that basis, he deserves a chance today.

One thing it proves and something I've stressed time and again - what's written on here does get read within the club.

As for the Guardian article I don't think his passion for football or the club particularly shines through.

His sensitivity as a human being comes across as does the fact that he puts football in proportion and his family where it belongs - right at the front.

Individually I'm sure I would like the guy and want to help him but as a manager he simply doesn't convince me at all, either in the current crisis or in the matches leading up to it.

I wish it were different cos it would be a real pleasure to finally have faith in someone and to be able to settle back and finally enjoy Leicester City playing some proper football and basically from one end of a game to the other.

I didn't want him but I certainly wished him well when he came and even briefly wondered if he might be on the right track when he cleared some deadwood to make to make much-needed space.

But tactically, motivationally, psychologically, with his preference for aged loanees whose ability and fitness was obviously questionable and his inherent caution I've been disappointed far too often.

If he somehow comes through and proves me wrong I'll admit it and be pleased for him but the result of tomorrow's match won't be anywhere near enough. It will just be something to be grateful for.

Agree with all that Thracian. If we do stay up however it will be despite Ian Holloway not because of him.

The TWAT is feeling sorry for himself Mr "we might only need a draw against Stoke" when i went Southampton away the writing was on the wall but to hear him joking you wouldnt of thought it.

He's a right T W A T.

He is responsible for us going down and should suck up that responsibility not shoe gaze like the tactically inept manager he us. Im sure all Plymouth fans are pissing themselves, i never wanted him here in the first place, just like when we were linked with him when he was at QPR....for god sake no.

The first manager to ever take us down and it's like its not his fault.

He was way out of his depth.

He'll never manage in the Championship again.
